Maryland was once a sovereign country, after the Revolutionary War, under the Treaty of Confederation. All 13 were. Also, Maryland has historical background, using a pre-existing geographical name, location, history, and what-not.
Before you rat out on me, either, my country is not fake either. The Nordics is a real place, the history is real (Kalmar Union. Look it up), etc, etc. Heck, even the flag had actual meaning (Again, Kalmar Union).
Also, a lot of people care about these "nations", as evidenced by my social group. Please actually research before you debate.

In other news, after a period of consilidation, the Hetman has started a program of economic stimulation: as much scrap as you can transport must be sent to your local industrial centre and we'll give you 10 roubles. In addition, the ruble is being re-instituted as the Hetmanate's currency: all economic centres like markets must only accept rubles, not cans of food, clothes or guns. All markets found not obeying this law will be shut down.
