RevolutionDCM for BTS

With 2.71 out the door and MP hopefully well on its way to being fixed, are there any plans to add additional components in 2.8 ?

I am particularily interested in the Commanders component :)

How about fixing random events? If you want, I can loan you the code I used to fix it for my mod.

Bugs always take precedence imo, I was not aware of there still being an issue with them (what is it anyway ?).

The herbalist random event, and such, the events that used Readpass2 code in CvInfos, all got broken by WoC wayyy back. I fixed them by rewriting it as a readpass3. (WoC seems to hate and/or break Readpass2's)

I thought that had been supposed to be fixed in 2.61. Anyone knows for certain ?

I thought they fixed it by removed the broken events, not the underlying cause. I know they didn't change the code in CvInfos for events between 2.5 and 2.61

Is it just me or does anyone else has a bug when contacting other civs/leaders in RevDCM 2.71?

Looks like the 'Limited Religions' option didn't get fixed. Just tested RevDCM 2.71 and if player enables 'Choose Religion' from game options and 'Limited Religions' from BUG options only 1 out of 7 religions will be found during the entire game (the first player who discovers religious tech gets religion) - so it's definately still bugged.

@Zapp, I don't know how or where the code has been changed for those options. I'll take a look.
EDIT: Ive also put your other bug forum issue in our "to do log" as well.

@Afforess, the fixed DLL code for random events was ported across. What has happened is that the previous faulty events were not turned back on again in CIV4EventTriggerInfos. They need to be turned back on and checked for correct operation. If they are still broken even after this test, would love to find out how you fixed them.

@Fierabras, I haven't heard of that issue before. I have personally installed version 2.71 on another computer but have not seen this issue yet. At least 100 downloads since 2.71 and no one has yet mentioned it. Doesn't mean that you have not found something real.

@Mamba. New options depend on what Phungus thinks. He is now in the RevDCM team. I'm personally looking forward to trying your woc pretty units when you release them :)

Cheers

I have re-installed 2.71 and the bug is no more. Might had something to do by installing RevDCM by overwriting an older RevDCM folder, instead of doing a clean install.

Hi Glider,

I have tested the MP with the 2.7 official release and compare it to the prerelease 6:
Good point is that the popups are now only for the one facing the revolution
Medium point is that there is like a small lag between each human player (ie it takes like 3 sec before the first unit you selct is effectively selected... it didn t happen in prerealse 6)
Bad point is that the MP is less stable I had one OOS every 50 turns or so...

I ll try 2.71 to see if there is an improvement...

Perhaps this random event OOS fix should be included in next RevDCM version: thread.

I made post about this bug 24th Feb in RevDCM bug reports thread. Few posts later phungus replied that this bug was fixed so I didn't test it at that time again. He probably changed the code when making fixes.

@Jack
Thanks for the MP feedback. You are playing MP in what environment? Good news on MP. Lemmy over at RevolutionMP has solved the change player issue and so with testing, it is possible that the Revolution mod might be entirely compatible with MP soon. :please:

@Zapp
Thanks for the info. This week I'd say that I will test both the new MP code and check random events. If both go well, will release another minor.

@Phungus
Brilliant job on the inquisitor changes. I don't know what you did exactly but going for a religious victory is a lot of fun now with more realistic chances of success. Also really like the civopedia info for revolutions data in the civics. :goodjob: This is a nice build and incredibly small numbers of bugs now.

Cheers

Glider...maybe I've discovered the same bug as Fierbas??...

Anyway...here is my issue: Whenever I contact another leader, there is no dialogue to pick/choose from in terms of trading, etc. Attached is a screenshot:

Any other notes I can think of:
I simply used the new 2.71 downloader and have never had any previous issues at all installing RevDCM. Also...I'm fairly sure that I'm uploading it correctly seeing that I've uploaded versions of RevDCM and Better AI in the past with no issues and for a long period of time.

Any thoughts for me to fix this?....

Did you have issues with 2.7 or just 2.71? Does it happen straight away or later in the game? These are important questions. Attached is 2.71 in the old format. Install it like you used to install RevDCM and report back.

Cheers

That's caused by not removing any previous versions of RevDCM, if you just install 2.71 over an earlier version of RevDCM there will be old files from the old version that will break things, most obviously the diplomacy screen.

@glider

Please put a link to the extra add ons installer so that people can easily reimpliment Better Ship Scale, Dales Nuclear DCM stuff, and the Choose Religions mod components. These used to be part of RevDCM, but I peeled them off into optional add ons. But there is no link to the add on installer I can see, so it really should go in the OP of this thread. Once again, add on installer is here:
https://revolutiondcm.svn.sourcefor...nk/Compiled Installers/RevDCM AddOns 1.03.exe
Personally I think you should set up another download page for it, so the number of downloads can be tracked, but you can just link that and people can download it if they want. The optional add ons can be found in the branches folder in the SVN if you want to repackage them.

Also the main download file for RevDCM in the SVN is still version 1.00 and should be updated. You can see it here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/revolutiondcm/files/

I posted this before, and it's important stuff I think. Maybe you just didn't notice.

It was in the official release 2.7 with Win7. 2.71 is actually much better for some reason... (100+ turns without OOS so far). Any change on the MP side between 2.7 and 2.71? :confused:
