That has to be on of the most stupid things I've ever heard said. So what, You think capitalism and democracy are creations of the mentally handicapped? You should learn some history, and actually just get a better grip on reality in general before spouting off such offensive and foolish things. :rolleyes:

Edit: Also that quote basically slanders every founding father of the United States.

I greatly respect the founding fathers of the United States. The context of the quoate is what most Liberals have become. I am a hard line conservative and will defend capitalism and democracy to the death:ar15:
First off, you obviously don't respect the framers and the founders or you'd never post something so profoundly obnoxious and wrongheaded. The fact is you reinvent reality and ignore the basic facts to fit your skewed worldview. The founding fathers were liberals son.

Keep in mind the conservatives at the time of the American Revolutionary war were royalists, and believed in the privelages of the nobility, they also believed the role of The State was to support the power of said aristocracy, that was the whole point of capitalism of the time, to put everyone on an equal playing field. And for the most part capitalism works, however all first world nations have evolved to managed markets for a reason. Again I know you ignore reality and conjure your own version to fit your ideology, but the historical facts are thus: under a pure capitalist model the US has massive recessions every 15-20 years, and I mean massive. This occured until the Great Depression, where the US under the leadership of FDR evolved to a managed market, from then until Reagan there were no massive recessions. The closest to this was the Recession that occured under Carter, which was caused by the OPEC oil embargo, the economy was obviously shocked by having gas shortages.

Since Reagan we are now seeing a reemergence of the old and historically familiur recessionary cycle. And this is only the tip of the iceberg of what's crazy about modern "conservatism", which isn't conservatism at all, the current movement is right wing fanaticism. The part that is so absurd is the oft called for "smaller government", while at the same time the right in America demands an increase in military spending and a beligerant foreign policy and increase in State intervention in citizen's personal lives. This is obviously paradoxical to a small government claim, ie it is entirely specious. As they say, actions speak louder then words.
This topic is closed as I don't want to stear this thread off discussion of this great mod;).
I love this, you have the audacity to post vitriolic idiocy, and then demand that the matter is close. I will call you on your stupidity every time I you rub it in my face dude.

Edit: I see you have changed your quote to something more akin to personal political oppinion, rather then pointless passive aggression. I wol't continue this line of discussion, as your current sig isn't nearly as obnoxious.

At this late stage before release of 2.5, if anyone wants specific things built into RevDCM...

I'ma drive a truck in here filled with them code thingamajigs, if ya' don watch out!! :lol:

Seriously, I could almost ask you to include all the SDK stuff of the Merged Mod... would certainly make my life a lot easier!

And I have to agree with others here: Airforces mod is generally great!

@phungus:

Why don't you like the Random Invisibility? :coffee:

This is obviously paradoxical
Excellent stuff on debate. It is good to seize the moment independent of what "system" we are under American or Iranian. Has it occured to anyone that all of our perception is actually "paradoxical" not just "this or that" but all of it. I cannot find an exception. Something that is white is actually perfectly equivalent to something that is black. This is actually a tension between perceiving A or B when it is probably more likely an A and B relationship. Opps, I'm supposed to shut up and work on RevDCM! :rolleyes:

So far in testing there is some paradoxically very good news, and some very bad news. The good news is that the latest build is working really nice and all systems are go for launch....

The bad news is that I have had to patch the project interdependency system with only one line of code, to get it to work for now. This means that the apollo program works correctly in a vanilla sense, but any modders who introduce custom project interdependencies will have to wait until the issue is resolved properly in the next release. Project interdependencies are locked to vanilla for now. When I release all the sources etc in the next few hours, feel free to fix it for me, as I do not hold a monopoly on solving problems and will shower gifts upon those who fix it for me (including a collectors edition copy of RevolutionDCM for Rise of Nations - a real time extended version of civ under the Rise of Nations engine).

Will just throw some final testing stuff at the mod on different test computers and see if anything breaks. So far it behaves really nice and launch is counting down 0600hrs from now.

Cheers.

EDIT: clarification

I have a question that I'm hoping glider1 can answer for me. I heard that you are working on a 3.19 version for your mod. Does that mean that you will be upgrading the sdk code used by DCM?

I have a mod that I have been working on for the last year and it's almost ready to release, but it uses the CvGameCoreDLL.dll file from DCM. Do you think it would be possible to replace the dll file in my mod with your new dll file to make it 3.19 compatible? (I realize that I may still have some Python editing to do). If it would word, is it OK if I do so?

Whoops, that ended up being more than one question, but any answers to the above questions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't get it glider, are you saying we have to use your project XML? I go back to default BtS XML, because I don't like the DCM chain reactor thing (unnessary change), and change some techs for the space ship parts. Are you saying my mod wol't work with 2.5 then? If this is the case, can I upload for you the Legends of Revolution ProjectInfos XML file so you can set up a core that works?

@Phungus
At this stage it is the independency between projects that is not customisable until fixed. The nature of the projects themselves and the dependency on other things like techs is customisable. I want to fix this problem, but am torn between releasing what is very cool code otherwise.

@General Tso
The RevDCM DLL can be made to function as if DCM were the only mod inside it, by changing the game state xml in RevDCM.xml. As for compatibility with that DLL and your own mods infrastructure, I cannot say except to give it a go! Try the current version of RevDCM that is out there now, for the basic model does not change in the next RevDCM.

Cheers.

Thank you glider1. Are you saying that the CvGameCoreDLL.dll file in the current version of RevDCM is 3.19 compatible?

So changing techs for spaceships will be fine. Check.

What about the Chain Reactor (DCM change default in RevDCM). And Manhatten Project (Default BtS). I alwasy revert back to default BtS because I don't like the change anyway and am fine with the default BtS Manhatten project and nukes workings. Will this be covered in 2.5? If not can you set it up so that it is?

@Phungus
The Manhattan project does not depend on any other project, and so it will be fine to change back to vanilla. I would be happy to do so in RevDCM base, but I guess there are as many people who like it the way it is as there are people who want it back to default.

I will double/triple check that other project details can be customised ok?
Cheers.

Thanks for checking. My main concern on the Manhattan project was nukes, they are dependent on the Manhattan Project. And also wanted to make sure that changing spaceship parts techs would work fine. If this and the Internet all works as expected, I'm good to go, that's the only thing in projects. Maybe I'm not understanding, what exactly is wrong with Projects in 2.5, can you give an example?

@Phungus
Sure. Nukes do depend on Manhattan, but nukes are not a project and so this is ok. Thrusters do depend on Apollo and it is this project-to-project interdependency that is not customisable for now but fixed to vanilla. Will fix this, but am reluctant to delay release because of it.
Cheers.

Well Jdog and I have been throwing rocks at this build, me from "the land down under" and he from "the land up and over" if you understand that. :crazyeye:

We cannot break it ....... but I'm sure you lot can!!!

Enjoy and Cheers

EDIT:
Take a close look at the documentation for specific issues, there is *a lot* of information there that will answer many initial questions

Awesome. Just curious though ... is the source code at the same link as before? This one:

https://revolutiondcm.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/revolutiondcm/RevolutionDCM/

I know I should really not dig into it just yet and have a crack at it unmodded to see if there are any bugs, but I'm just too eager to get my hands dirty (plus I tend to do both things at once ... sometimes I'm not in the mood to play and sometimes I'm not in the mood to mod)

EDIT, Disregard, it's 1 am here and lack of sleep is causing some idiocy. I found them.

Thanks glider. Will set to work on updating Legends of Revolution now :goodjob:

@Phungus
And guess what, I remembered the debug makefile and to acknowledge Legends. Thanks for the help with the new code for Revolutions.

@Frekk
Sorry Frekk. It's back in it's usual place at post #1

Cheers.
