RFC: BtS Bug Reports

this work two pics and a save.

The two pics are from the next turn (1874). I thought I'd advance it 1 turn just to make sure, save is from 1872.

If you can't see I own all the cities in each local for the first UHV. In retrospect I shoulda zoomed on france for ya, to be clear that I own it all, but you can see from the two images that it is past due for a verdict on the UHV which I have not received either way.

Can't tell from your screen, but does Turkey own Istanbul? That counts as a Greek city I think.
Anyway, even if you don't, it should say yes or no, so something is wrong...maybe the 3000 BC version is differently checked?
You only own Athens but not Istanbul, and you don't have a 2nd city in Greece which would count as "control". Laibach I don't think not in the Greek space.
Also, I'm showing the turn number as 1796 (turn 353), whereas yours is 1874, something is wrong with your version, so in a sense the condition hasn't been checked yet.
And yet it clearly states the Pentagon is built in 1866...hmm, something is definitely wrong with the 3000 BC start.

It's the 3000bc unlocked start I may add... if that makes a difference. I'm not sure if I got a new version of the unlocked saves with the 1.86 update. This could maybe have a baring on how the game runs particularly if the year timing has changed.

I may add, I didn't know that control meant more than one city... is this true? If there is one city in the zone of control and I own it I control that zone right? Istanbul is outside of the zone of German control, so is that other Turkish city which I planned to demolish after taking the Russian one... though I've recently found this may not be necessary as "control" means just to have a majority of cities in that region.

Till this gets resolved I'm going dutch. Unless you think I should run an american to see if it is a weirdo timing thing.

Did you switch to Germany after initially starting as another civ?

EDIT: Otherwise, looking at your screenshot (which is a little hard to see) it looks like the UHV check has not triggered for your game which is more likely to be a bug than any problem with the definition of the UHV criteria.

For the record, from the notes on the atlas page:

- "control a region" basically means just that. You must control (have within your cultural borders) more cities in the given region than the civilization of that region, AND at least 2 cities. If the civilization is not active, one city should be enough to satisfy the condition.

Do not ever vassalize the native civ, because they will likely cause you to fail the "control a region" UHV condition.

Try doing a reinstall of the mod. Delete (or rename will suffice) your RFC folder and then unzip the download of 1.186 again.

Others have reported having the screwy dates problem and this has been known to fix the issue.

If that's the case I definately qualify since greece went independent and I conquered their one city and own the only city in the Greece region.

So I'll do what you said reinstall.

Again, you need to also own Istanbul or build another city in the Balkans to qualify for the Greece criteria. Right now, I think Turkey and you each own a city there and so you don't "control" the territory even though culture-wise you do.

again, no look at the atlas, the border is south of Istanbul in fact. Now please don't act like I haven't looked at the atlas 20 times or so to make sure I had everything planned out right. I have the UHV goal and it is not working right.

yes this was the issue. I don't understand what happened, but I reinstalled it and it is now 1796. That's an odd timing issue, but thanks everyone for there contributions. Sorry for the lo rez pictures as well I didn't think it would be a big deal.

Not correct AP. One city in any given area is enough if the "native" civ is inactive, which Greece already is in this case.

and istanbul is one square north of the Greek region.

Hey, I know this isn't bug related anymore but how much of Russia can I give away so I don't collapse and still have "control"

As long as Russia is inactive, you only need one city in the designated area to have control. Your problem may be though that if you give away cities to other powers, who then become unstable, Russia may respawn before the UHV deadline.

just downloaded and installed RFCB1186 and the game crashes whenever I try to load the mod. I tried it at first just copying it over and replacing the old files, and then later by deleting and replacing the folder. I could play the Rhyes that came with BTS fine and am currently regretting not backing up the folder...

Any ideas? I'll supply any information needed.

You need to update your BTS before you unzip the 1.186 download. If you have done this (use this website, not the ingame update option which is buggy), then delete the RFC folder from within the Mods subfolder and unzip the 1.186 download. This process worked just fine for me.

well, I feel dumb. I downloaded a patch about a month ago knowing my game was out of date, but for some reason I got version 3.130... Patch is downloading as I type, but I can't imagine I will have any more trouble. (I thought my game was up to date for some reason)

There is a missing spot in the city name list for Spain. I founded a city along the western coast of South America along the border of Ecuador and Columbia and the city was named Murcia, which is not in the City Name Manager python file. I think this square should be changed to Santiago de Cali or Medellín. In any case, I am unable to change the name of the city by clicking on the "Murcia" in the city screen; I guess manually renaming cities in-game was disabled in light of the automatic city name system. Nevertheless, I'd like to play with a city with an accurate name rather than Murcia. I have attached a save of the turn I founded Murcia, with the settler standing on the square. There is another settler in the Mediterranean which can found Cagliari the following turn (which I'd like to change to Palma de Mallorca). How can I do this?

I'm posting this as a bug because Spain really should have a city name for that spot in South America.

You should definitely post this in the Minor Suggestions thread, which Rhye reads through before making each new patch.
