RFC Europe Files

Initially I thought it was bad. However, it just means you have updated the files, and have not commited them. Try right-clicking the mod folder, choose ''revert'', and then do again the changes.

Thanks for helping to tech support micbic. merijn_v1 had accidentally deleted all the files on his "commit", so I reverted his change. It was very easy for me to do, so please, keep experimenting with it!

I appreciate that, in general, it is easier for people to just post files. However, it can get so confusing for us -- different people posting different files in different threads and sometimes editing the attachments to previous messages, etc... So I'd really encourage people to at least try out the SVN. I sound like a shill for TortoiseSVN, but it really is pretty nice easy to use software. I wish there were an equivalent for the Mac side.

Okay, but we should all either use sourceforge or CFC for file-hosting, because the situation will become even more confusing if some of us update the sourceforge while some others post new files at the forums.

The SVN should be mostly for Sedna, micbic, st lucifer, me and others that contribute code. One cannot simply add art files and have the thing working, all the files will have to be edited by one of us. For now I propose we split the "duties" as they were before:

Art: sedna (maybe flying pig and others)
That includes: the Art files themselves, XML + python (consts.py)
(This also includes tech three, buildings and wonders)

Map Arrays: micbic

WB: st Lucifer

C++, general python: me

At his point it looks like sedna gets the short end, so I will be helping.

Feel free to disagree with me/ propose something different/ join in the above efforts.

Map arrays?

Okay, city name and settler maps (never got to edit war maps tho).

Ya I was wondering where can we find/download settler maps for RFC Europe?

Wonders: Jediclemente

And merijn v6 and I will try to finish the Civilopedia texts. OK?

@The Turk: The settler maps are in the RFCEmaps file, in .txt coded format. From there, they are converted to your familiar .bmp file. The bitmaps have been (not deliberately) left out of current version, will be in at the next one.

Is it possible to upload the files somewhere else too? Cause i just can't download from rapidshare and don't know why. It stops after a short time :/

Still adding new features. We need at least the dynamic civ names activated before we can stop with the new features and start balancing only. That would be the first Beta.

Have you checked Sedna's to-do list? I don't think dynamic civ names has ever been considered essential before a Beta release. It doesn't seem a very important feature to me. And there's been very little discussion about it
so far, has there?

Well you should know many of us really enjoy it, to me it's really cool seeing one turn a civ has changed it's name, then I check what did it do to earn that new name.
For example with Spain it will be really cool starting out as Leon and then after uniting Iberia you will be named Kingdom of Spain and after a few colonial projects are built you become an Empire.
Also I think people who are new to RFC all together will appreciate this very much.
