RFC Europe playtesting feedback thread

That would explain it, as I built a round church in Constantinople after conquering the byzs. Thanks. I thought there might have been some strange bug with religion relations, but now I understand. I need to start looking at what wonders do before building them, after playing normal civ for so long I got in the habit of not looking at what stuff does anymore.

It would be great with a complete list regarding stuff like this, for new players like myself who have no clue about "bonus-effects" of wonders etc. :)

We made several attempts to do "full" documentation, however, as new features were introduced, old references were obsolete and so on.

Since the mod is getting into a more mature state, a more up-to-date reference should be done. I will do it, but will have to wait for some more time.

And that reminds me, why on earth would anyone wanna build the round church. The research bonus is not much, and it gives you much diplomatic penalties. Diplomatic penalties can stay but the research bonus should be increased

What do you mean?

It means... what it means? lol. I played a game as the Ottomans, tried to save the game, and eveerything is okay. When i pressed load game the file isnt there. When i start a new game as the Ottomans the file still isnt there. When i tried to save the game again under the same name it shows "are u sure you wanna overwrite?" So basically the file is there but i've no idea where it is. The strangest part is it only happens with the Ottomans in RFC:E

2 screens form my latest game as cordobans. Interesting development.

Spains new capital is Tiro(Tyre) and Genoa has 2 cities in turkey caesarea and Gangaria. This is from a financial crusade which they targeted an other byzantine city than Constantinople.

Edit: hey wait. I forgot one thing. there is an exploit of the AA's. The spanish finished researching astronomy before i conquered there cities in spain, resulting in the 2 spawns of AA's at spanish coasts. giving me access using the southern one strait way. so I could build the gold coast without having discovered astronomy.

In the dozen or so games I've played of RFCE I've never ever seen the (Strait of) Gibraltar Atlantic Access spawn (though I have seen the Seville AA spawn).

EDIT: I can't liberate Königsberg to the Germans, bug or feature? I couldn't liberate via diplo screen, but I managed through liberation screen.

EDIT2: Is there anyway to change the third Austrian UHV to "by" because 1750 is a long time..

Founding a corporation gives -2 stability. is it coded with the event or is it somehow a result of the economy demage made by the maintenance?

The strategy layer is broken, I noticed this when I wanted to plan city development

What's the logic with the Sulphur 1E of Lyon that has a Forest on it so it is useless until Machine Tools?

how about building a fortress on it?
I suggest you try it out :)

you gain access to a resource by:
building a city on it
building a fortress on it
improving it (pasture, mine, farm)

which is IMO one of the reasons why the AI sometime chooses crappy city locations(gain secure access to a resource, cannot be 'pillaged' easily)
makes sense from a tactical/strategic perspective or whatever

Forts should only be used on resources outside a BFC (and at chokepoints).

Also there is a gold resource 2W of Umea under a forest

The Swedish start is annoying, literally every tile in Stockholm's BFC is overlap, could you get the Viking to build less there?

There is a forested marble in the Byzantium starting zone, it feels silly to fortify it to get the resource. Forest should be removed.

Is it just me or do early game turns go excessively fast thus making the French UHV unwinnable? I'm on turn 15 and I already have a =( for the first UHV.
Edit:Started new game..LOST first UHV on turn 0 so it's not that, though I suppose it does change my standard byzantine strategy a little, but still good.
I can post a savegame...but..um..turn 0.

Swedish UHV #2 is a don't lose cities to Polan & Russia goal. Sweden can get the five cities for UHV #3 from Lithuania, IMO add Lithuania to don't lose any cities

I really like this mod, or modmod, as the case may be. One aesthetic thing keeps bothering me, Germany almost always becomes protestant, which is in itself fine, but it doen't make sense to have a protestant holy roman empire....

...but..um..turn 0.
France is very one-sided when it comes to the first target, spam military like mad to succeed. I have had very good results with Mounted Sergeant spam, so much in fact that I had time to reposition quite a bit of the conquests :)

The turn zero thing is a known bug and will be fixed, restart client before having a new try and it is OK again .. ie. back to menu and restart greys out UHV from the beginning.
