RFC Europe: Small bugs/fixes

Here is a savegame of my Spanish game. Some more things didn't work properly.

- The plague won't leave. (I deleted it from my cities, but it's already there for about 20 turns or even more. It makes it impossible to use my Privateers)
- The UHV doesn't count. I'm sure I have most colonies (I'm the only one with colonies). The other UHV (unite Iberia) doesn't work because I have Judism in Sevilla. IMO, Judism shouldn't count as a religion that may not be in Iberia to accomplish the UHV.

I will take a look at this tonight. For the plague, the bug appeared earlier and probably I will not be able to fix it. You will have to post PythonErr file (except the file gets cleared every time you restart the game, so if you have started a new game since then, it is too late).

Plague is a bit strange, in RFC the Elephants were immune.

I will look into the ships thing.

All ships are vulnerable to the plague, always have been.
(maybe not all, but War Galleys, Gun Galleys, Privateers, Galleons, Galleys, Cogs and Holks)
You have to be at least 3 tiles away from a city to not be affected(maybe 4)
Land units can evade by being on a tile outside a city radius without a road or river access.
I had asked about that in a previous version since it kinda sucks to have constant protection on the fish/crab/clam but during the plague you lose that protection and exactly then barbs show up and pillage, making the plague even worse (less health)

this is beta 8:

Thanks for reporting.

I will test that, but I think the one further away was Independent, while the other one belongs to Cordoba. You will flip cities from another major civ only if you spawn inside their territory (Ottomans, Dutch ... )

This is my first post since Beta 8, and I have to say it's really great and I love the highlightable province system. I've just finished my first Beta 8 game as France, and noted a few things, not all of which may be bugs:

Morea, Thessaly and Crete provinces aren't all properly aligned, I see this has been noted already though.
The Isle of Man is currently the sole tile in the province of Northumberland, which I presume was otherwise removed when English provinces were consolidated?
Before 840AD France has to conquer Tuscany but Tuscany is an unstable province.
After 840AD when France loses stability on the German provinces it keeps stability on Franconia (which I took as an excuse to capture Frankfurt).
Since the province of Bavaria doesn't flip during the German spawn, and France has to have a city in Bavaria to complete the first UHV (often Lubeck I presume), Lubeck tends to stay in French hands barring war/instability.
When Genoa spawned, I declared war on them immediately, and since they had no state religion I got a defensive crusade option against them.
England converted to Islam for several turns before becoming Catholic.

And a few odd things the AI did, not that I know how much these can be affected:

England built a city in the Outer Hebrides, but one tile away from the site that would have given that city access to the whale to the west (otherwise its only resource).
I had a vast number of vassals:
Venice went to war with Cordoba, asked to be vassalised.
Germany went to war with me, capitulated.
Germany collapsed.
I declared war on England when they spawned, took Calais, signed for peace, then asked England and the Norse to vassalise to me and they both accepted (it seems odd given that they weren't at war with anyone nor near any threats).
Spain went to war with Cordoba, asked to be vassalised.
Also religion didn't seem to play a big divide, Cordoba signed a defensive pact with Hungary, and Moscowy vassalised peacefully to the Ottomans (all with their standard religions).

Sorry it's so long, just my thoughts on the peculiarities of the game and whether they're working as desired or not.

Thanks for the input

- some of those changes have already been mentioned and fixed
- conquering an unstable province is fine, it is just harder to keep over the long run
- Lubec should probably flip to Germany, however, Germany is already pretty strong, so this is a point of consideration
- Defensive Crusades are broken in Beta 8, fixed for Beta 9
- Long delays before nations get a chance of state religion will no longer be a problem
- Christians vassalizing to Muslims is not ahistroic, the Ottomans had a pretty good scheme of vassalize and later conquer (essentially divide and conquer)
- Muslim Christian defensive packs should be discouraged

I'd rather tie them to a specific tech or era, so they won't happen in the Middle Ages, but become possible from the Renaissance onwards.

Has anyone else had a bug with the last (spread islam to spain) UHV for Cordoba? I also had an extreme bug with the Byzantines, the first UHV was easily accomplished...300 years too early...and I have already failed the last two and it's 848.

Can you post a savegame from right before this happens.

I haz qweztons
Magellan requires Atlantic Access even though it comes at Shipbuilding.
Gold Coast and Cuba are at gunpowder even though gunpowder is a prerequisite for optics which is prereq for shipbuilding which is prereq for astronomy!

Longbowman come at Military tradition which takes longer to research than gunpowder so they come later. I suggest dropping Drama as a prereq so longbows come in the 14th century not 15th
