RFCEurope 1.5

Have fun :)
You should start playing on 1.5, at least a couple months for a new version.
On a related note: I have no idea why, but spring is usually the most productive period for me modding-wise. It definitely was in the last 3-4 years.

Nice to see all that Crusade changes in the lateast commit! It' s been 2 months after November commit and I got very excited to see continuous activity!

Yeah, I planned to do these relic/reliquary updates for a very long time.
I might have gone overboard with number of relics in the game though... we will see after some playtesting :)

:)
As I said, I will do some commits in the more rough RL periods too.
Wanted to do this one a couple weeks ago (the base was ready), but finalization was slow in the end.
Spent way too much time on resource graphics for example :crazyeye:
And there is still a lot to do connected to those.

Why is everything in this mod look better and more clear than base game or even DoC :mischief:? Do you use high definition icons?

Yeah, the new icons are amazing.
Thanks! I'm also getting more and more statisfied with the resource roster and their graphics in the mod.
More than half of the new icons are from Realism Invictus, History Rewritten or SoI, but I made the rest of them. Either from scratch, or heavily modified previous ones. In the post 1.5 resource updates for example Ivory, Iron, Salt are all made from pics found in random internet searches. On the other hand Spices, Wheat and Citrus are modifications of various extent, made from icons already existing in Civ.
All icons used in the mod are the same size as the ones in the vanilla game.

So let me understand how the whole crusade hijacking works... As Venice I have chosen -- Bribe everyone involved. 350 gold left my coffers. And then? After few turns Isabela was chosen to lead the crusade. After few more turns I use cheat mode to check Jerusalem and Constantinople. Nothing happened, no troops anywhere. Where are my money? What happened to the bribe? Why game does not tell me anything?

Probably a bug.
Can you post a savegame before the Crusade?

Sure thing, just hit end of turn.

You know what else is weird? s participating nation you get no war declaration against Jerusalem's host, and also when city is captured you get no news at all. You simply would never know even about existence of the host nation. Try to chose different options with my Venice and see what happens.

Ahh, you meant that popup.
It's for participating in the Crusade in the first place.
The bribe option is to pay money to avoid your units being sent.

The take over leadership option might show up 1-2 turns later.
It's not a guaranteed thing though, and only possible if you are a participant.

Btw, the Crusade arrives after a couple turns without any problems. In all 3 cases: if you participate fully, if you decline the Pope's/God's will, or if you buy your way out of your Catholic duties.
You are right though, there should be a noitification for all possible participants if the Crusaders manage to conquer their target city.

While this would be intuitiv / seems more realistic, it would be terrible for gameplay. 10+ civ declaring war at once on each Crusade would make the Arabia civ pointless.

Hello, it's been a while. I checked out the new version of RFCE and I have to say, I really like 1.5, it's a huge improvement. Keep up the good work :D

Thanks! I still have many plans with the mod :)
Way too many actually. Also I can't really stop till the next real Civ game is ready, may it be Civ 7, 8, or whatever else :mischief:

The pace is also getting faster once again.
I'm pretty sure I will release 1.6 sometime during the spring.

I can see the new resources in the game, but not on the map. It takes another update to place them or you are not sure where to place them?
Yeah, the new resources are not on the map / added to the colonies yet. Still have to do a couple adjustments before that.
I'm open to placement suggestions for the map resources though.

I suspect, there is a bug with plague: When you conquer a city that has the plague, while none of your other cities is infected, the plague icon will show up in front of your civ name. When you gift the conquered city away, while still not having the plague in other cities, you will be spared of further infections. The plague icon will stay quite long in front of your name but will vanish eventually. Sadly, I don't have a save.

Is it intentional that the Reliquary building and the Belfry have the same icon?
No, the Belfry icons will be updated.
Didn't have a good idea for them.
