Rhye's of Civilization - the fastest loading mod Expanded - PART II

Great idea Gunner!
I'll hint that this would be the second guide for the selected civ, but it will expand on an aspect not prominent in that civ's current strat guide (at least if the players who write it try to follow the goals in RMC1 rather than win by amassing bonuses.)

I've an idea...for the next RMC
You'll discover next month :o

btw I'm not leaving this weekend anymore :(

blas, that hint has made you r choice really easy to guess.
btw I'm on icq now. We could try again to make MP work

I figured that there really is no point in saying 3.5 out of five when you mean 7 out of ten.

And I am sure you agree with me in that Mongolia is a PITA, Silverknight! First time I played as China they blitzed my capital and snagged it in one turn...

Definitely do not bother colonizing Siberia! Its a waste of time and resources, and the AI will do it for you!

Tired of studying and working and messing with the scenario, so I am playing as china today. if it goes well, i will put out another guide. if not, ill go back to work ;p

I played Rhyes earth map before I rtefound this(I was on vacation in arkansas forthanksgiving on my Icelandic Hill Billy relatives Computer) As the Scandinavians
I conquered ALL of the Old world (all of Europe and Africa with only a few spots of unclaimed land But the Russia area and Large Parts of Asia are unpopulated and for some reason India is still the're but forced to the Islands inbetween Australia and Asia(I own Australia too! XD) I Also own east canada and Vinland(Newfoundland) I renamed Everything the Vikings would name them like Scralingsholm(Salamanca) Blackmanborg(Zimbabway) and Americanslobsfeld(Washinton)LOL anyway I think the actual scenario could give me a chanlenge

PS. I had Marines whent The Rest of the world had Swordsman and a few had Knights and Lots had warrios and spearman(Tech First Money later)

In RHye's mod?!? With all the trade, I hardly see how its possible. How did you do it? What difficulty?

I think the site now has the Mongolians as 8/10, didn't Aeon say 7?

Also, the more I think about it compared to other stuff, I think that England should be put down to 9/10 if possible. Its especially easy to dominate with them if you're good I think. Being an island nation though, some new players may fall behind. For that reason I would put them down one level.

I think we need to rate again all the guides. They seem too high in general. For example, we gave 3.5 (and it could have been 4) to Egypt considering only its potential but not considering the difficulty for the newbie in the low production.

We (you) need to compare each other the civs: which is stronger, the Mongols, or Egypt, or Byzantium, or Arabia?
We should consider both the potential for the expert player and how much easy it is for the newbie. In case that we're undecided between one step, the power the civ has when AI manages it may influence the final decision.

I played Rhyes earth map before I rtefound this

He is talking about the earth map, not the mod. Of course it is possible to do something like that on warlord difficulty when all you have is the map.

I would like to propose a two level rating system. One is for new players, and one is for experienced players. Same as before, just two graphs (psychological thing; everyone will rate down for the new guys).

I would also like to challenge you guys to try something different:

I like to play in a way which mimicks the real world development of the various countries. I have had a lot of trouble doing this as the Dutch and the Portugese, hence

The Colonial Challenge:

Challenge Rules:

-Set the difficulty to demigod, and the aggressiveness to normal.

-Turn off all victory conditions (its not about winning, its about how you play the game... literally)

-You may only establish one city in Europe besides your capital. It must be both adjacent and on the coast.

-You may not conquer any European cities, or ever hold more than the two you founded.

-You must attempt to build colonies where your nation would historically have had them (so the netherlands would have to build/conquer in Southeast Asia for the most part, and the portugese would build in Brazil, Africa, and India)

-You may not ever create an extensive land empire outside of Europe.

The goal here is to showcase some of my favorite parts of the mod (low distance corruption, fast ships, UU ships for Dutch and Portugese), and to share how I play the game.

I would be interested in seeing some challenges from other people too, since we all play very differently, and I think this would be an excellent way of exploring that.

Sorry this was so spur of the moment, but I was... doing some stuff... and just thought about how cool it would be if you... anyway Im not all here, so if this is a bad idea just yell at me ;p

The problem is that SE asia completely sucks in this map. Completely. Thats the one part of the map I don't like, its impossible to get a productive city there, especially once the Japanese and Koreans have taken a few spots.

Oh yeah, forgot to say, I like the idea and might give it a try. I usually don't go rampaging and stay about accurate until the modern age, then I go crazy conquering.

Yep, thats why its hard. now im going to go... do some more nothing...

Aeon: I'll definitely try that with Portugal once I finish my game with Greece, which is pretty amazing:

Conquered Byzantin and Ottomans by 300BC!, Now going for the scatered city of Eastern Europe south of Austrian's capital.

This is a lot more challenging then the earth map(And yes I was talking about the EARTH MAP not the mod)I played as the Carthagians. Im stuck in Southern spain and well strangely. I for one think its the dersert for me and the real Carthaginians and the surounding civs (the Roman Empire Spain and though not really Portugal and Egypt(Portugal being as spain would have gotten there anyway and Egypt being as it is surounded by uninhabitable desert so its un Settlable anyway) Im having a problem with Rome now and Uncountable Barbarian Galleys and Junks. Im planning on getting to Australia and Scandinavian areas and settle and/or conquer them.
Also for the Numidian Mecenaries thing I think they should be called Poeni Infantry instead first of all they are spearman not horse Skirmishers also Poeni infantry are elite Carthaginian Spearman so it mades a great Carthaginian unit.

EDIT:1 mistake is half of my second sentence is cut off
-Im stuck in southern spain and well Strangly-
Edited to -Im stuck in southern spain and strangly in the EXACT places Carthage was (North west africa,Sicily, and Southern Spain

EDIT2-its Carthaginians not Carthagians
