1) To the America players, do you build Slave Trade and then integrate (join) the African Slaves into your cities?

2) To the Egypt players (or European/Middle Eastern conquerors), do you build the Suez Canal, i.e. a city that bridges the sea gap between the Mediterranean?

3) To European players, do you ever bother with Africa in the initial settler-expansion/colonization phase?

1) I never bother building it. Too expensive, not worth the payout

2) As Egypt (one game) yes, as every other Euro civ YES!!!

Its more important as a euro than as Egypt.

3) I dont like Africa for colonization; too crowded, bad terrain
South America (especially Brazil!) Has everything you can get in Africa, plus its better terrain (usually pretty productive for me, but I build small empires... not a fan of the monolith) AND the AI is late to colonize it (usually waits till well after Africa is done to get started there). Tons of advantages, dont bother getting yourself involved in the African question.

Rhye, I'm having some trouble plotting the goals and bonuses for RMC1 because I'm not exactly sure what year corresponds to what turn... Can you give me a breakdown that says what year it is in turn 50, turn 100, turn 150, etc?

Haha, looks like Rhye really likes what he does By the way, I hate being ignorant; what country are you from, Rhye? I don't know what a .hu stands for, and I really don't want to warrant any guesses. I wanted to thank you for such a good mod and also ask you a question. Do you think it's posible you will create one more version of your mod that is designed to be played on random maps and on any skill level? I'm still a civ player that likes to play games around 5-8 players multiplayer on small to normal map sizes in Warlord difficulty. I think a lot of people like to play settings fairly similar. I really like the realism and other changes you've made, and I don't want to always play the 31 civ game to enjoy it!

Your mod is too good to not have a version that is designed to function strongly in other modes of play! Also, if you are willing to do this mod version, do you think you could take up a vote to see which three Tribes people would like to see in the mod between Austria, Ethiopia, Israel, Celts, Hittites and the Sumerians? Or, is the 31 Civ limit only a limit for one map?

You can use the random map version and restrict it to only 8 civs by simply selecting none instead of leaving the openings as random

Rhye, got an odd .ini error. My musketeer file had changed its fortify search from musketeer to musketter. Not sure why that happened, but I just wanted to warn other people to check in case it was related to here. Its an easy fix, just changing a letter.

Playing as Germany (peacefully... I think the world might be dying with the irony!) and doing my best to make everything look like it did in 1930... when suddenly a facist government will arise... and the world will get quite violent.

Germany is really easy to culture whomp with, strangely enough. The science trait makes it almost pathetically easy.

Everyone, I'd like some information about your conquering patterns when playing aggressively... How early do you start conquering? How quickly do you go through foes? When do you do most of your conquering?
(This is for designing conquest goals for RMC1...)

Unless I'm the Romans or something like that, I will not start conquering seriously until cavalry. I then go crazy conquering with tanks and modern tanks. Once I get going I usually conquer people very fast.

But do you conquer your neighbors early on? Do you see such opportunities but pass on them in anticipation of *real* attackers? =P
(Note that the information I'm driving at is when it would be fair to ask of the participants to have conquered stuff by. I don't want the goals to be so easy or so hard that everyone or no-one gets them. Don't suggest dates for teh goals, but please tell me when you can usually conquer stuff and how much.)
