Part 7, The war continues
The Qand Dynasty
Ogidei Qand Khan 1444-1479
Tsubodai Qand Khan 1479-1494
The Zhou Dynasty
Kublai Zhou Khan 1494-1531
The war slowed down after the major battles early on, After the retreat of Russia in Late July there were only minor skirmishes happening, the Russian Czar split his force, half went south to gather reinforcements, half went deeper into Mongol Lands, After 7 months of fighting the Russian troops had been round up, 40 000 more Russians had died, and the rest of their force was Trebuchets. Over the next 6 months the Trebuchets would be killed, the Russians had been repelled and on August 19th 1456 a seize fire was called, (peter still refuses to talk, but because he no longer has an army I am going to temporarily stop attacking, this will allow me to catch up with real time)
In January 1480 the war continued, Tsubodai attacked, confident of victory he split his army, attacking south at Tver, and scouting the west for more Russian cities, the scouts achieve success as they found Moscva, the Russian capitol.
Mongol soldiers arriving at Moscva
Meanwhile the battle of Tver was a huge success, one of the Keshik Tumens attacked early than the assigned date, they entered the city and were encircled, however loosing just 5600 casualties they beat back the Russians and gained control of the city (victory at 22.5 percent odds). Tsubodia was disappointed as he didn’t get to participate and was 10 miles outside the city when the battle finished.
Siege of Tver...
and its capture
Meanwhile in the north the siege of Moscow started, Tsubodia predicted it would take years before they were strong enough to attack the capitol, but they would wait. It was only a matter of time. The Mongols waited for 4 years camping at the city and then a liberating force appeared, the keshik were no match for the Russian Elite Pikeman, new regiments who were trained specifically to beat Keshik, the City was no longer under siege.
The Russians attack
However one month later the Mongols returned, beating back the pikeman the mongols decided to go further behind enemy lines.
The Mongols attack
They attacked the russian camp just to north. However the Mongols got beaten back due to a heavy blizzard (with 89% odds, I lost. They need to improve the combat system).
The Mongols attempt to raid the camp, however due to a blizzard they lost. However this Russian artist's depiction of the battle makes it appear that victory is due to Russian courage.
The Mongols were temporarily kicked out of Russia but they would return. Tsubodia ordered the retreat, he would rebuild the army and comeback in a few years.
The Russians killing off the rest of the Mongols outside of Moskva, due to the heavy losses in this battle Tsubodia orders the retreat and the men leave Russia.
For the next 10 years he recruited men and in the December 1493 he returned hungry to continue the war. (So much for the quick war china took 9 turns to down, after 11 turns in Russia I have conquered less land then half of china) The winter of 1493 was a cold one, huge blizzards reigned over the Mongol camp, and when the khan got sick they left the country, the war temporarily over. (I was confused when my units starving Moscow each lost a unit, then I remembered the Russian Power, I decided that the siege was a bad Idea, and left the land) In February 1494 the Khan died of hypothermia. The Quand dynasty was over.
