I'm guessing that some folks here may be too young to remember the original Battlestar Galactica TV show that was on in the late 1970s, but it starred Richard Hatch (with Lorne Greene and Dirk Benedict).
Richard Hatch died today, at age 71, of pancreatic cancer.
He had a varied career, appearing in soap operas, science fiction movies, more mainstream movies, and the first show I watched him in was The Streets of San Francisco (he replaced Michael Douglas). He was also an author, with several Battlestar Galactica novels to his credit.
The last project he was involved in (to my knowledge) was the Star Trek fan film Axanar; however, that project was halted when CBS sued the producer for copyright infringement.
