People who like to generalize, such as Zardnaar, are more racist.

Bozo - You and I can forget that a person is black and see people as people. But it doesn't do anybody any good when so many other idiots out there can't (and won't) do the same.

So at this point racism EXISTS in our society. Us pretending it doesn't will not help anybody - it's like sticking your head in the sand. Affirmative action instead says "Racism is a fact, it's not going away fast enough - so what can we do to try to help those most affected by it"

If you pretend it doesn't exist, thinks will NEVER change.

The thing is, racism has been around forever, and always will be. This means that therefore, black people wont ever be able to succeed based on their own talents and abilities. They'll always need the help of white people to succeed. I dunno, I just cant accept that.

I started a thread about this a while back.

And I posted quite frequently there so I don't see any need to elaborate on this topic here, since you kindly provided the link to it.
So just to recap: Racism is a right-wing phenomena because it is an idea associated with hierarchy, inequality and chauvinism.

On topic, I'd say that both sides have racist elements to them. Whether certain posters on here want to admit it or not, Democrats have been very racist in the past and still carry the luggage (Byrd D-WV anyone?). I'd say Republicans are viewed as more racist since alot of people DO view them as the party of the south, even though during the times of slavery, the Klu Klux Klan, and the civil rights era the south was firmly Democrat.
