[R&F] Rise and Fall General Discussion Thread

The AI seems more aggressive and combat capable. Genghis declared on me, I cleared all his initial forces then he proceeded to send the envoy governor to my neighboring city state which smashed one of my cities while the rest of my army was fighting Genghis' second wave. I'm actually impressed. And I went down to King for the first game.

just stared t a game just looked it they changed the tech tree but they didn't. Didn't played it full. but my guess is the AI will not upgrade its units.

Can someone explain if a "team" is the same as an alliance? There are options on startup now for "No Teams" and "Teams Share Visibility." The former didn't exist and I remember the latter being "Allies Share Visibility."

I'm guessing it's more of a multiplayer thing?

Anyone having any issues playing the expansion? Everything works up until the point I click "Start Game" when I set up my new game, then it just throws me back to the main menu. If I select "Standard Game" ruleset and not Rise & Fall, my game loads perfectly fine.

Disable mods.

So I was playing the Cree and ran into Arabia conquering Valletta in the first twenty or so turns. I thought to help out with my UU, but when I scrolled over Arabia's warriors and slinger, he had a +3 combat modifier that said "Intel on opponents movements." What is that?

Diplomatic Visibility. You accepted his delegation.

Well I lost my first game with the Cree on Prince... I am so embarrassed. Got DOW'd by Kongo despite being friendly and managed to fend him off when Indonesia (also friendly) declares war on the other side of my empire and surrounds my capital with 5 warriors and 2 slingers.

My second game as the Mapuche is going much better on Island Plates. My island neighbor is randomly Spain so this should be pretty entertaining

Fighting the Mapuche while in a GA sucks :P

Levying city state units is actually pretty useful. I'm having a lot of fun on my current Scotland campaign. Went tall, spent money to levy the units of Palenque and later Znazibar which were in between me and the Netherlands, Zanzibar almost got a city before I could swoop in and then buy their units. I'm liking this play style, focus on tech and money and levy city states to wage your wars. If they make a renaissance italy civ I hope this is the spin they give it.

Elcano's Revenge :D

Overall, I am pretty impressed with R&F. It’s a lot of fun and the new additions are pretty cool.

The game is getting better and better. :)
