Rise and Rule for Civ3:Conquests

Dear Sir:
I am from China, and in China a lot people like C3C.
I play RAR 1.03, but I have a question.
I choose no rule, but when I capture 10 cities, the opponent's other cities will also be destroyed. It is really so.
I want to know why?
Is there only thing we can do is to capture a nation's ten cities, not all the city.
I hope to get your reply, thanks a lot.

You have elimination set up in the rules. When you first load the scenario, and pick your leader, there are victory conditions under the Civ-Selection part. Elimination is one of the choices, and it's checked. Filled in, rather. Un-check it, and you should be good to go.

I believe Elimination is on the right of the two columns.

Dear Mr. Turner:
Thank you, The RAR is great I should say.
But I want to know should I light the button, I mean, should I choose it or not.
Or should I choose elimination then unlight the button.
Please tell me, thank you. and RAR is number one mod I like. Thanks
eric chen

Not in front of Civ now, but I believe if the button is blue, it's 'checked'.

Of course, you can always go into the 'Game Limits' screen, and change the elimination number to something over 512. Since 512 cities is the maximum allowed cities on the map, you'll never hit the elimination limit.

Under the leaderhead in the Civ Selection screen, there are two buttons, description and game limits.

Dear Mr. Turner,
I want to know which line?
I mean which limit I should choose, I find there are a lot of numbers.
Thanks, Happy weekend

No need to call me Mr. Turner, that's my dad! ;)

Okay, elimination is on the Civ Selection screen. On the right side (it's actually in the middleish of the screen), second option under 'Accelerated Production'. If the box to the left of it is blue, then it's turned on. Make sure it's not blue, and you won't have any other worries.

But if you really want to change the number, click on the 'Game Limits' button. I reckon you've already found that, so you're on your own there. ;) The option to change the number is 'Elimination City Count', and is the third one from the top. Double click on that line, and a pop-up will open. Enter the desired number. I'm playing with it, and it looks like the highest you can set it to is 10. So make sure the box is unchecked, otherwise you'll keep having the same problem.

HTH.

Hi everybody, i'm new in this forum!
I downloaded RAR mod, but i've got a problem. I just can't get to play with RAR.
The problem is: i chose RAR among the scenarios, i chose the land, then the leader and the rules, then the loading begins: but it is always interrupted, and the error message says that there is a missing file: "Art/Units/Tribe/.../warrior/WarriorRun.amb.
Then the game exit.
My Civ3 Conquests is patched to 1.22, I also downloaded the extras aboit Medieval Japan and WWII, but the problem still exsists... is it because my Civ3 version is Italian?
I'm really sad about this problem because Civ is the best computer game i've ever tried, and RAR mode looks able to make Conquest even more exciting...
Thanks to everybody who can give me some help, and congratulations for the site and the forum; which are fantastics!

Yes, that's the point: you need either the American version or to translate all the file and directory names in english.

I installed Civ 3 lot of time ago, perhaps june 2003... when you install it, are you requested to chose the language? If it was so, I may only re - install Civ 3 in english, and Civ3Conquest in english too (i'm sure that when you're going to install C3C, you can chose the language).

As a fan of RaR, I was wondering if the creaters of this fantastic mod have any (albeit early) plans to create a RaR for Civ4 ?

I certainly hope so.

I have started a PBEM on this Mod. If you want to have a lurk then here is the thread. [thread]129934[/thread] We are only at the discussion stage ATM so the game wont start until we have all business done.

Finally I got to play RaR... it'a amazing! Yesterday night i couldn't stop playing... among all the fantastic caracteristics of this mod, one little thing that made me crazy for RaR: Ka-50 HOKUM for Russia... great!

Who knows? ;)

Well maybe Isak. :king:

As he now is working with Firaxis as a Consultant. (See their website) :goodjob:

Do not get your hopes up to high - as he is probably not working on a DYP/R&R mod for civ4. :( But probably modding techniques etc. in general. IMHO.

Well, the question of the day remains, will RAR 1.04 beat civ 4?

Inquiring minds want to know

Doubtful.

No doubt that RnR 1.04 will cure cancer, the common cold, and make everyone filthy rich, but I don't think it will compare to Civ4. :(

I agree. :)

And about RnR 1.04 making everyone filthy rich, if my economy is any indication, I'm afraid that's not going to be the case, quite the contrary.. :D

Sorry I was not clear enough.

I didnt mean beat as in be better, I meant beat as in be released as a final product before Civ IV is released.
