Rise of Mankind 2.81 feedback and bug reports

RoM 2.81 is not multiplayer friendly. There is a discussion forum which has some hints on what you can do to make it playable in mulitplayer mode.

:( I was hoping someone else might have seen this problem before. I tried unchecking the Revolutions mod and disabling barbarians as well as people suggested but that doesn't seem to resolve things. I'm having the same issue as in that thread Gomer_Pyle created.

Wow

I now have LION that appear as GREAT PERSON.
I Have at least 4 great person + a LION each turn!

and this happens since over 500 years (ingame)!

I also have some problems with score numbers; in my game, the Ottoman Empire has a score of -23649841321..............so he's at the bottom!

This happens when integers overflow. The game stores GPP as an integer, and integers have a limit of 2,147,483,647. If the value goes over it, it overflows and strange things happen. I'm not sure why they didn't store it as an unsigned int or a float to give it more room, but that's their decision...

I like to say that I love the new addition which calculates and shows what will be the effect of constructing a building in a city.

I find it hard to believe that nobody thought about doing it before.

Great job :)

I agree. It's one of those things you have a hard time doing without once you've tried it.

Use RoM Full, not Mega. The Mega RoM requires a very high end computer.
I'm also crashing with this runtime stuff. Tell me, is a computer equipped with a GeForce 260GTX, Triple Core 2,4 Phenom processor and 3 gigs of ram not a high end PC?

3 GB of RAM is a bit low.

Windows XP is the most stable ;)

IDK, I've been using Win7 x64 Pro for a year now and haven't had a single BSOD or OS related crash.

But if XP is working for you, no need to waste money on an upgrade, since Win7 == XP in terms of performance.

Please indulge 1 last thing please...what is that unlocking the 3 gig ram thingy for XP ?

On a related note...what is mod/component that allows the player to see what the effect of potential buildings will have on the selected city ?

BULL actual effects, a feature of the BUG mod. ;)

It is low because you can easily get 8GB of RAM now.:crazyeye:
XP will not use more then 2GB of RAM unless you enable the 3GB switch.

My Cousin has 32GB :smug:

Good for your cousin.

Stop for a minute and tell me what you actually have yourself.

Please don't base your pride on someone else's accomplishements :)

One has 2 the other has 4
