Rise of Mankind 2.81 feedback and bug reports

Hi, i´ve downloaded the new version (Mega Install) and like i was used to with 2.7 it didn´t work with all Civs (only loadingscreen forever). So i tried to delete some from the Assets folder, now i´m getting this error:

CvLSystem Load error: Lsystem XML subsystem failed to load

So what am i to do now?

Would you be content to just download the 2.81 full version and play that without the mega pack? I know there are fewer cool civs to mess with, but there are likely a lot fewer problems too. Either delete what you have now and use that one, or delete and reinstall the megapack and be more careful what you take out of it? :)

To cut out less then just a few civs in Modules/Custom Civilizations is hard..

Anyway i tried it now with just the megapack without the extra civs, crashes too... with or without 2.81 i might add.

Sadly but for me this is a step back, in 2.7 i could choose which civs i delete and it played well, now i can´t use this version at all? :(

Megapack is the extra civs. Trying to add Meag pack without the RoM 2.81 patch will cause problems.

Re-install RoM 2.8(Full or Lite), then patch to 2.81. Make sure this works 1st! Very Important.

Then if you need instructions on adding extra civs in to RoM, and I'm Not talking about installing the Megapack, go to the RoM ModMod sub forum. Several Modders have instructions on adding extra civs in.

The Megapack has been updated to work with RoM2.81. But because of the Modular loading If you add or remove CIVs you Must make the appropriate changes to the MLFLoading... file(s) beside the individual CIV Custom files. Adain there is instruction in the ModMod sub forum.

Solved. Original post below.

Hello,

i enjoyed RoM 1.0x and installed RoM 2.81 a while back. It worked fine until ~industrial age, when i experience reproduceable CTDs on ending a turn.

One thing that helped (for another 10 turns or so) was to save the game in the world editor and start it again as scenario, but then again CTDs.

I reinstalled Civ4,BtS, RoM2.8, 2.81Patch and A New Dawn 1.52, but still the same problem.

The CTDs happen in high and low graphic settings, so i would guess that is not the problem.

Attached are the save game which crashes if the turn is ended and the log files.

If there is someone here who can point me to the error's source i would be gratefull.

Also had this earlier on a Windows pop-up?

The instruction at "0X7c911689" referenced memory at "0X00000df3" The memory could not "read."

Found an xml error Here:

Actually, I fixed it by deleting the Wilhelmina folder in Rise of Mankind\Assets\Modules\Custom Leaderheads so the error doesn't pop up again. Of course I can't play as her because of that...

I'm using civ4:bts 3.19 with Rom full 2.81

what does it mean when you see TXT_ACO like everywhere, for example when you hover over someone to attack it says 10TXT_ACO_HP...?

I rarely choose Christianity as my main religion so I did not notice until last night that several of the Christianity-only buildings are no longer available to build. I'm speaking of Krak de Chevalier, Montfort Castle, St. John chapter houses, etc. I can still build King Richard's crusade though.

I am playing ROM 2.81, with Afores(sp) mod 1.41.

I thought I had the requisite technology, but when I checked the civilopedia, they were gone from that. I cannot find in the forums where they were removed (or not included)

Thanks,

Michael B

Thanks in advance,

Its in the Unloaded Modules section. Next to the Art/XML etc folders. Just cut and paste it in the modules folder.

Thanks for the quick reply strategyonly, but I need a little more direction. Am I looking inside the game itself (as in start the game and ctrl-alt-o for options), or in the firaxis/civ 4/bts/mods/rise of mankind folder somewhere?

Thanks in advance

Michael B

REVISED: Found it. Thanks again for your help civ king and strategyonly

Thanks for the reports, I'll try to find some time to check them out but getting ready for Xmas (shopping, baking etc.) has kept me rather busy and I'll intend to keep my hands of from modding during xmas (at least I'll try ;)) so I'll get back into modding business next week when I got few days free from work as well.

About those reports with modmods installed - unfortunately I can't say much about those reports as I currently don't have any modmods installed (just dozen or so different RoM versions). So if you got problem with some modmods, please ask about them first in their own threads and leave this thread only for reports from basic RoM 2.81 version.

See thats were a problem really exist, cause these that i put here are main stream problems ie CvMainInterface and Tech Chooser issues, i do not believe the modmods have changed anything in these files, of course i could be wrong, thats why i wish they'd leave the bak in the files that they changed???:crazyeye:

Plus here is the tech chooser i mentioned:

Traceback (most recent call last):

File "CvScreensInterface", line 83, in showTechChooser

File "CvTechChooser", line 104, in interfaceScreen

RuntimeError: unidentifiable C++ exception
ERR: Python function showTechChooser failed, module CvScreensInterface

What was the error in those MainInterface cases? Looks like at least the other is really a bug in BUG mod if it was their code block that caused the error and I'll probably have to redirect your info about it to BUG team (RoM's maininterface lines do not match with BUG's maininterface lines so don't go posting RoM specific errors to them).

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, since technically its not a bug as far as I can tell...

Whenever I press any button I get a "StatusDump-Start-1" message in my message box thing, and its getting very annoying. I also get various not civ related messages up there as well. Is there a way I can turn this off or will I be stuck with it?
I'm currently using Rise of Mankind 2.82 Mega Mod with Afforess' A New Dawn

Also thanks for the great mod!!!:goodjob:

I just went from a financial surplus of 791/turn to a deficit of 925/turn in one turn. My total income is about 4000. See the before (1783) and after (1785) screenshots for London.

I thought something was wrong, until I discovered the cause: I had researched Microposessors which obsoletes Adam Smiths Trading Company. Adam Smiths gives +1:gold: per specialist, which apparently is a very powerful ability. The same applies to the civic Patrician - I find that I simple can't afford to shift out of this civic.

The loss of Adam Smiths also caused the loss of a trade route in all cities. I have enclosed the financial screen before and after as well. The Commerce column shows a loss in total commerce of ca 300 (from 5490 to 5198) and a dramatic drop in gold (from 5070 to 3430). I'm not sure I understand the formula at work here - perhaps someone could enlighten me?

I think some balancing is needed here.

I use 2.81 with a bit of AND thrown in - I have avoided almost all the parts that add buildings. I don't think AND is relevant for this discusison - it is a RoM balance issue.

The issue is that London has +275% so that 110 extra from specialists really is 412.5! so with all those +25% buildings it get nuts, I once had 50 Merchant specialists was running patrician and Adam's plus wall Street and other multipliers and needless to say it was extreme money, then I got microprocessors then was forced out of patrician and my economy imploded I lost something like 1000 gold then I got revolutions issues big time

Which of the extra stuff added to RoM is responsible for when at War your civ is awarded extra troops next to the city that was lost (they are useless but kind of neat).

Is there anyplace a person can check what each and every little icon means here (attached 1), also i started with 8 civs and got this many, is that normal??

Second attachment(Holy Wars) pink hovering because of BUG), but when at first one of the towns are captured you cant move the unit by itself, but the NEXT turn it automatically returns to your territory?
