Rise of Mankind 2.81 feedback and bug reports

I had twice captured citys from the Holy Romans. Every time i got the message: You learn the secret of monarchy. But I doesn't get that tech or the civic. I play with 2.81.

Second question: Why do I get in modern times only a Warlord Chief (S) (I had the maximum of the upgradet versions of the warlord already built.) instead of a Great General. I want to settle down the Generals for Expirience of new units.

It only says some not all of the tech :). The Warlord Chief (S) instead of a GG is a bug that is being worked on. Vincentz posted something that fixes it.

And I have downloaded his fixes but haven't checked it out yet.

I haven't looked through the thread, so apologies if this has been raised before. I am having an error related to pressing Ctl+A to demolish a building in one's city. When I do this, the popup does not include my Wonders. I manually changed my Wonder cap from 4 to 6, so I am assuming that the issue is related to this. Curious for feedback.

There are some buildings you can't demolish. Wonders are one such. Partly because even when they go obsolete they still provide some stuff culture and GP points.

I actually know next to nothing about this feature, since I don't use in and consider it cheating. Will vanilla RoM let you demolish wonders?

This was the first time I tried it. I only found out about it yesterday. Interesting point about it being cheating, though. The AI doesn't do it, do they?

No the AI can not do it, and it causes OOS in MP. Anything the AI can not do is cheating in my book.

Well, thank you for this fabulous mod, again! It runs very stable - I cannot remember to experience any CDTs! There are, however, some things that I do not understand, although I am not sure, whether they are bugs or features:

Playing 2.81, small map, immortal:

1. Refinery (and other buildings like synth. oil, Hoover Dam) req. rivers, act. cities need to be directly to the river, rivers in reach do not count as such; furthermore for some of these buildings a coast should be sufficent (e.g., refinery)

2. mount rushmore can be build everywhere, I would suggest req. peak

3. I have never seen the AI use bombards or cannons, maybe they do not build the foundary? One does not need one in every city, but no access to these weapons is a major draw back

4. hit movies are req. for movie theaters, how about hit movies giving movie theaters a gold bonus instead, in the RL movie theaters exist without hollywood, too

5. Lead and Obsidian give bonus for hospital - I cannot see the rationale here. In prior times there were meds including lead, but they never helped! And obsidian?

6. no cash for pillaging in own cult. bord. - well, but evil overlords practically live of that !:p

7. sometimes I get the message "has no worst enemy"! Object?

8. I cannot build bakeries, because they req. granary, when I have mod. granary

9. RoM scenarios are defunct

10. vague pedia: does the Encyclopedia work both ways?

11. req courthouse for forbidden palace not displayed

12. when I have open borders with player A and am at war with player B, I can bombard and attack player B from the territory of player A, but player B cannot counter attack without declaring war to player A - seems like an exploit to me, AI does it, too.

Regarding the CTD at the end of turns, I am using Beyond the Sword 3.19 with RoM 2.81 and A New Dawn 1.54. Here's the save. http://forums.civfanatics.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=238832&d=1262236636

It seems to happen when there is a large amount of activity happening during the AI's turn, such as an assault by multiple units. The game is on a 'huge' map with 11 players IIRC. Though I'm not too sure if the CTDs are always to do with multi-unit assults, as it's hard to give any judgement when it just crashes on you like that.

Thanks for any help.

Lead - think X-Ray machine
Obsidian - best surgical equipment until surgical steel was invented

I hope this issue hasn't been addressed/solved before. If it has, I couldn't find it.

This is my first time playing Rise of Mankind. Everything worked fine until I started my first war. I had placed spies in three of my opponent's cities, including his capital. When I took over his capital (or at the least it was the first time I noticed it happening) all my spies (including those in my territory) disappeared from the stacks in their respective cities. If I clicked on the stack and pressed enter, the spies would be selected and I could move them. They would show up on the world map but their icon for the stack would not show up.

When a great general was created, its icon did not show up on the stack of the city in which it appeared.

If there is anything else you need please let me know.

Does that mean thinking about 100 turns in advance is cheating?;):mischief:

No, but then the AI can think one era ahead, which is usually over one hundred turns. I've seen the AI beeline for techs too. :mischief:

Well, right, the X-Ray is convincing, but obsidian for surgical instruments?! I'd rather give that bonus to the healer's hut then...

I keep getting this error message?

Could not find extra artref pointed at by artref art:LEMQE_PLANTATION_RACK
I've seen this error in Lsystem log for long time but don't know what causes it because that artref define is in the xml file. When I merged cultural citystyles 0.95 I looked into it once more but didn't see anything wrong with those defines (don't know yet if this message pops now after the merge is done).

Already fixed for next RoM version.

You can't demolish wonders and buildings that are given by wonder ie. free buildings.

Obsidian use in surgical instruments is actually quite new invention so it's better to have it in hospital's bonuses.
