Rise of Mankind 2.9 feedback and bug reports

right, well, thanks but i cant make anything out of it, maybe someone with more knowledge in these mathers than me could tell me whats wrong

No, not PythonErr2 but PythonErr. You only look at PythonErr2 if you can't find the problem in PythonErr, and it is not easy.

Are you saying PythonErr.log is empty or non existant?

Edit: btw there is noting unusual in the pythonerr2 file.

OK, that means it is not a python error or you have not set up logging as in the first post of this thread. You do have logging on, don't you? If so, what version of RoM are you using and are you using any mods with it?

i just went and checked, seems i didnt activate the logging feature. Well i did but after some CTDs and MAFs i had using the mod i reinstalled the game, probably forgot to put it back on...

EDIT: ive reactivated the logging feature, now im going to start a new game and once i get that error (wich should be the second or third turn i take) i will re-upload the right file

EDIT 2 : odd, im not getting the error anymore , tried several games , went for about 10 - 20 turns , did the same things as last times but no error... im sure the logging feature didnt "fix" this issue , how could they ?

EDIT 3 : erm, just tought of it, i moved ROM folder from the mods folder located in my game directory to the mods folder in my documents, can that fix the issue i had ?

EDIT 4 : NVM the error got back, it only needed a few more turns, anyways, i attached the right file

Yes RoM must not be in the my games folder. The problem is with an event. I don't know much about them. Perhaps someone else can help you further.

sry my mistake, i wrote it wrong, i ment that ROM was in D:/games/civ4/bts/mods folder and i moved it to mydocuments/my games/bts/mods folder, so where should it be to avoid any unpleasant suprises ?

D:/games/civ4/bts/mods folder good
mydocuments/my games/bts/mods folder bad, very bad
:D

Awesome mod, but have found this irksome problem: Going to diplomacy screen with AI player, the 'responses/options' panel doesn't display. All other panels, the leader's face, etc all show properly. If the AI leader initiates diplomacy, i can see his side of the table and mine - just not the responses.

I downloaded 2.91 together with A New Dawn 1.72b, in a torrent. Seems legit, as version history.txt shows the 2.91 changes.

This happens if you install the Mod over an older version of Rise of Mankind. Make sure to clean your mods folder out, then do a clean install.

BTW, AND is at version 1.73C now. ;)

Well, was worth the try :D
i originaly had it in the game instalation directory but then after lots of errors i tried putting it into my documents ... now back ... but the issue remains, why am i getting those errors ... cause i dont mind getting them, unless it crashes the game wich it doesnt but still, what was supposed to happen when those errors occur, maybe its something important in the gameplay, some kind of event that should happen.

Gents,

I have a continual problem with 2.91 - and 2.91 only in that it continually goes black and CTDs. (XP, Nvida and updated everything). Alreadry tried delete / reinstall.

I've been playing and enjoying ROM since 2.0 and each and every version has worked fine ... but 2.91 (only) won't stay stable.

Is there anything in particular that I need to adjust for in 2.91 ?

Thanx :)

Just to clarify: You said 2.91 ONLY. Did you install 2.9 first, then extract 2.91 patch OVER 2.9 and overwrite all when asked for it? If not, then you should do that. Hopefully that is an easy solution. But if you did do that, then no idea :).

Yes Sir, 2.91 ONLY and installed / reinstalled as you described. I can go back to the 2.8 series - or before - and everything's hunkey dorey  Turned the graphics down to their lowest and rechecked what else was resident on the pc, nvidia temp etc.

No one else has had to make a 2.91 specific tweak ?

thanks but just for information:

to play gigantic I need....

RAM, RAM, RAM, RAM (and propably a 64Bit os) (and a lot of patience ;))

Try to delete the cache and/or do a defrag of your HD. A lot of people had problems just after installing 2.91, but it would disappear later. (I think it might have been due to old cache giving wrong infos)

This is just a thought but...

Could Holy Shrines not add a Great Prophet bonus? I can see why they would have one, but as the game goes on, the need for Prophets cannot be any better than the need for all the other GPs.

If anything, what if it was just a flat, non-prophet GP bonus?

Glm94 posted this earlier

'OK now I got the mod in the right place but its failing to load. A message pops up saying Civ has stopped working. Oh BTW I have a Vista(32 bit).'

I have a fresh fully patched Civ IV and BTS installed with ROM 2.91 and am getting the same error. I have UAC turned off, running as Administrator, tried XP combatibility mode also.

It has been a couple years since I have played Civ IV, the last time being on XP and ROM and other mods that worked then do not work now. I have downloaded updated versions from here.

Here is the location of the mod copied from explorer

C:\Users\MyUsername\AppData\Roaming\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Rise of Mankind

This appears to be a Vista issue, anyone have any ideas?

First of my warriors got killed by a barbarian warrior with a 3,5% chance.
Second warrior got wasted by a bear with a 12,2% chance.

Seems like really low odds, and quite lucky AI, but this is more the rule than the exception. This happens to me in practically every game. I even lost 99,8% chance battles. Why? Is there hidden "features" in the game engine?

I see this as a topic to a thread as hot as Hitler's or Global Warming's ones...
