Rise of Mankind 2.9 feedback and bug reports

Sorry if this has been mentioned before...but trade caravans/freights always give only 34 gold - this is unaffected by the distance they travel, the size of the city they end up in, or the age my civ is in.
I'm using 2.91.

BTW, love the mod and thanks to everyone who's put their hard work into it...I actually fear Civ V will be a letdown after getting used to RoM!

Hi im running mac os x version 10.6.4

I keep getting XML failed to load messages and I have tried using the alt root fix by putting it in the python folder and no luck :(

I directly unpacked the mod to the civ 4 beyond the sword mod folder using stuffit expander so im not sure if it is just unpacked wrong but i doubt thats the issue anyone have any clues?
Since Rise of Mankind 2.9x comes with custom DLL, it won't run on Mac OS (unless you emulate windows/BtS on it). However you can get Rise of Mankind 1.0.3 which doesn't have custom DLL and so it should run on Mac as well - though you'll be missing some features that the current version has.

Or you can get version 003 and maybe 004 (dont know for sure on 004) NWA, it has a ton of extra units, civ, LHs/ and features that dont use an dll either (it uses RoM as a base), that is if you can find a copy.

Yes, that is the way they work. It would be better if they worked similar to Great Merchants where distance does make a difference.

I have downloaded ROM 2.92 just fine, but when I load it up, there is no main menu. All I see is animated graphic of Earth and ROM logo. There is no menu to do anything, even close the game. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hello,

I've been having some serious issues getting RoM 2.92 to work on Windows 7 - every time I load the mod via Civ IV BTS (3.17) or directly by creating a shortcut with the /mod = ... line, then it fails to load. Instead the process chugs along at 3-4% CPU usage and 5kb of RAM for around 3 minutes, before closing itself.

I've completely reinstalled Civ IV, and the mod more than once in an attempt to make this work.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be causing this, or how it could be fixed?

Hi, first of all: Thanks a lot zaparra & co for this great mod which has made it very hard to convert to CIV5.
I enjoy playing the Earth scenarios, especially the one with 28 civs and fixed locations. However, I would like to play that scenario with fixed teams from the start. Under the custom scenario screen it is impossible to set up teams as the civs are fixed. Does anybody know a way to make teams even if the civs are fixed?

First of all, let me say that Rom is a great Mod. Unfortunately sometime a game crashes. My current game CTD. I playing Rom 2.91. When I checked the log files PythonErr2.log mentions a bug. I'm a bit clueless on what went wrong and how this bug may be fixed. I have attached the log file. Appreciate your suggestions.

The PythonErr2 log file is not much help in finding the problem. It reports errors that are not always true errors. The PythonErr.log and PythonDbg.log are much more useful.

If I right-click on the technology "Artificial Life" the whole game freezes up and I have to restart my computer (2.92) This also happens in "A New Dawn". I also had the game CTD every time I clicked next turn in one of my games, might be related to my capital since I noticed it would grow the next turn (2.91).

I do not get any diplomacy options when speaking with another Civ. Is there a fix for this?

You can't install new versions of RoM overtop of old versions. Delete the old version, then install the new version. ;)

Hi there!

I don't have event message from Tribal villages. Sometimes, I can't understand what this village gave me. If anybody know how to turn messages on? Version RoM 2.92

Hello, I have problem with ROM mod. When I click "end turn" game process the other players turn and after that my cursor does not change (rotating globe) and I can't do anything. When I have this rotating glob cursor I can only with "alt" declare war to other civilizations and click on minimap to move camera to other place, but my my turn never starts. So far, everything worked fine, until this turn. What is wrong?
I attached savegame and screenshot. Please help.

Version RoM 2.92

Unless you have a "super" computer, having that many civs (over 10) is waaay to many (you have 30:eek:) especially if you are past the Medieval era. Plus if you played on anything more than Normal with that many civs the sloooow down will be alooong time. RoM is a HUGE mod.
Actually even with a super PC you will still have alot of problems in later era's (too many civs).
Of course this is MY opinion.

Unfortunately this is a known problem with version 2.92. It is in the RevDCM code merged in to RoM, I believe we are waiting for a newer version of RevDCM so this can be fixed.

I don't know if it's been reported yet, but I've noticed a small bug. Once you build a plantation on the coffee resource, the resource icon completely disappears from the map. While other resources change to look like they're being harvested, with coffee the tile becomes completely empty, besides a building. I tried to recreate it at another coffee resource, and tada, the coffee graphic just disappears.

XP Prof, 4 GB Ram, 512 MB Videoram, all videos and sound set to OFF/no)

when I come to the turn when Eden Project will finish (i.e. turn 639 on Huge Map, 34 civs), the comp freezes complete. Ctrl-Alt-Del necessary.
It is NOT a Video RAM problem. Allocated ram at that time s ~ 2GB, free ram 1.2 GB
It is something with special with that wonder, as I can continue playing if I change production just one turn before the wonder is ready, and all is fine, but it will happen later as soon as I finish the wonder.
