Rise of Mankind 2.9 feedback and bug reports

XP Prof, 4 GB Ram, 512 MB Videoram, all videos and sound set to OFF/no)

when I come to the turn when Eden Project will finish (i.e. turn 639 on Huge Map, 34 civs), the comp freezes complete. Ctrl-Alt-Del necessary.
It is NOT a Video RAM problem. Allocated ram at that time s ~ 2GB, free ram 1.2 GB
It is something with special with that wonder, as I can continue playing if I change production just one turn before the wonder is ready, and all is fine, but it will happen later as soon as I finish the wonder.

No offense but it sounds like to me, like a waaaay too many civs problem on a more than standard map) with and older computer. RoM is too big a mod for that kind of stuff, i have an i7 CPU 860, with over 8 MB memory, 1 GB graphics card, with DirectX 11 and i still have a hard time in later games after Industrial era with ONLY 13 civs.

I tried the same saved game on my old puter and it was messing up the turn next unit being built (not being able to pop-up and let me know it was available) turn times in-between turns was like 2 minutes, now even with my "super" puter it takes around 30-45 seconds per turn and i am now in modern times, still alooong ways to go.

Of course thing is just my opinion, take it or leave it.

Anyone else have a problem in RoM of some resources not being generated on the map ?

Specifically: Elephants and silk

I have Win7 / BTS 3.19 and RoM 2.91

Civ player since Civ1

Elephants and silk have spawned just fine for me, but I can't seem to find gold ANYWHERE I've seen so far. Not saying it's bugged, just haven't seen it yet in my lands, or up for trade by another civ.

Since there are so many resources in RoM some do not always appear on some maps. The smaller the map size the more likely some will not be available. Effort has been made to make sure the more important ones always exist.

I tested it with huge maps quite a lot and always got same result - no elephants or silk.

I then found that there is RoM 2.92 and after installing which I now see elephants, no silk though, but I haven't had time to test extensively yet.

How big empire do you have when you complete Eden Project? As that wonder has some python code that goes through all your empire's plots and converts them to better terrain and adds forests to them, it's going to take a while. It might seem that it freezes but in fact it's just the python code running through all the plots on the map and applying the conversion where needed. How long did you wait before you decided that the game has frozen totally?

Now I'm mystified. When I get to point where I get a religion I get two!

For instance when I choose Taoism I "discover" Buddhism too, and in the same city as Taoism originator city :(

I had done fresh install for everytihng and did it again and still I get this.

Might this be related that I have Windows 7 64-bit version ?

No, there is a known bug if you have "Limited Religions" and/or "Choose Religions".

I observe the same thing. I find elephant occasionally but no silk in any of the games I played (not many but still I expect to see each resource in any game, after conquering the whole world).
That makes the Silk Road wonder something I can never build although I'm a wonder hoarder .

... take it or leave it.
I leave it.
did load the sav of one turn before, set in that city another unit to produce (2 turns) first before the wonder finishes, so that the wonder cames 2 turns later, and then ....
it worked w/o freezing.

Problem is replicabel. But found no reason why just in that turn it freezes all and two turns later it works fine :hammer2:.

Just had case that complete American continent had no lead and no gold
but some plants in ice, like citrus and hanf, LOL.

Usually after loading new game, before I do 1st turn, I open worldbuilder and check all resources and their spreading and correct it. This prevents for later hassle.
(I never play random maps)

I tryed the newest RoM mod but it just crashes at the load screen. I have the 3.19 patch for BTS and its in the correct folder, any advice?

just download the mod yesterday, i played on small map
and it run so smooth until turn 421 when i tried to end turn and it not responding

the globe cursor just keep spining and spining ~_~

and the turn never change
it was okay the turn before this

try lo exit BTS and load the autosave same thing happening
is there a way to fix it?

it's already happening 2 times now >_<

sorry for my bad english BTW

Hey im new here and only installed civ4 again cause of this mod, we love it. Have newest patch (warlords and so on) and of course 2.92 installed. Same have my friend but when we play civ together we get oos messages after 20-30 turns. rejoin wont help further then 3 turns. Both ports free blah blah. Vanilla civ4 we can play without any problems :(
Any ideas?

Had 2 games with map "europe expanded" fine, some chshes, but continue with load last sav worked fine. Now I have 3rd game with same map and it crashes always after I click "next turn" after some seconds working the new turn. Tried all, made different moves, slowed the research, but at that "next turn" the game always crashes. Looks like a runtime error.

Also, I notivce that now at beginning of a new game I get an error message something like ".. could not initialise .... (something) in revolution.xml line 126 (it's always that line 126.)
Have no xml editor with showing lines correctly,so I can't look what it is.

Crashes are not ram related, have more than 1.7 Gig free that time. sometimes window with ".. notice failure and need to shut down"

Now trying Carter Earth map with 18 civs directly in Bts (its own mod) w/o RoM

It's too bad as RoM has fine ideas. But currently there is too much frustrating to get such crashes after 10 hrs or more playing w/o workaround to continue the game with a sav reload.
Such a game must work fine with 512 MB video ram and 4 Gig memory.

and another thing: just noticed that RoM seems to run in an endless loop which must not be:
After select mod => RoM => single player, *before* I select a sav, means when it has nearby to do nothing and cpu load should go down, I notice a constant cpu load of more than 25%
I can undestand this only as a loop is running which must not be, and if so, it's a script failure.
(When I have "choose game to load" and wait, cpu should become idle, until I click a file to load. high cpu load at that time always is a rogramming issue.)

feedback:
in 2.92, why remove Industry?
I like this improvement!

I think it was removed because it is a mod for RoM and was being changed at the time RoM 2.92 was being released. I.E. Requested by the mod maker Vincentz. You can find it (industry) and all his mods in Vincentz Infinite Projects (VIP) [Modpack]. You will need to read the thread to figure what you need to install etc.

Thanks a lot!
I love industry improvement a lot. without it, in middle game before geo-thermal, only workshop and lumbermill can bring high base hammer on flat terrain. Lumbermill is restricted only on trees, i.e., only workshop is a flexible choice.
For late game, geo-thermal is strong. It's also the best if in the pedia, it mentions where can build geo-thermal. As I tried, it can be build in marsh, trees (not jungle, strange), and hills.
