Have you encountered some fun moments in RoM and actually took screenshot or recorded video about it?
Maybe you'd like to share it with all of us?
Have you seen something that was surprising?
Do you think you've got the BIGGEST EVER city in the game and want to claim a throne for it? Or the HIGHEST SCORE?

One picture can tell more than thousand words... :)

In youtube there's excellent Popper101010101's

Let's Play Civilization 4: Rise of Mankind

which consists at the moment over 60 Rise of Mankind gameplay videos (each 10mins). Enjoy!

Just see some of my uploaded pictures. ;)
The game I most proud of. A beautiful diplomatic victory with Joao II. :king:

I remember getting a city well over 100 it was this sweet spot that had 19 floodplain tiles and two cast tiles, both coast had fish and they were floodPLAINS so I got some serious food, toss in a cannery, irrigation canal, other stuff...

in AND, 100+ pop isn't hard anymore

simply get a place with a lot of food, in the VBFC (Very Big Fat Cross, a ring three city), mostly in the BFC, use Slavery, whip lots of wonders (I unlimit my wonders) especially Olympic Games (removes happy cap) get every building that gives science (especially slots) and gold (slots too) then get a civic that unlimits scientists and maybe something that unlimits merchants, turning it into a major teching+cash house, also make sure this city gets Hellenism HC, spread it rapidly, also get every health building you can, snag something that removes unhealthiness and beeline for vertical farms, also get every food +% you can, merchants take care of maintenance for everywhere, everything else to science, get rush buy ASAP and harness your mega city
and most of all

Here is a city to start the ball rolling.
Game
RoM 2.81, AND 1.53, AAranda's Religions Units and wonders),
Noble Snail, Huge, Advance start (note I am only wining 1 out of 5 games at this level)

Yeah, that's the problem with the late game, Cities grow way out of control.

Using the actual population formula, as it is in the SDK, a city of pop 170 is 1,758,964,116 people. Yes, Almost 2 billion people.

I realize that this is probably your largest city, but still... we need to balance the late game. I think some buildings should start costs :food: in the late game, and I think that later civics should slow growth (In the real world, the human populations rate of increase slowed as it's technological advancements increased. I think my Population Growth Rate Modifier for civics could come in handy here.)

I agree fully with Afforess that this is ridiculous. 2 billions people. Tons of specialist.... This is exactly why I'm against 3 square city radius option.

Obviously there is a need of some tweaking. I personally think that food is the issue here. There are too many food gaining improvements....

I think Affo should put in a modifier that makes citizens consume 4-5 foods when the food income gets too high to simulate obesity but i suppose threshold is good enough.

I think Random Events would simulate that better.

Just add more population = more rebelliouness(I know it gives some rebelliouness, but it needs to give more). That + random events.

Just in the recent game I have +70 food per turn in my capital..... Working only small part of tiles. Ridiculous. This was during the GA, but still.....

well, that isn't hard

Shortly before hitting 180 population, the game starts rolling over numbers...in other words, you'll suddenly be negative 2 billion something.

On a related note, the demographics screen only takes into account slightly over 2 billion population. Started running into that with very old versions of RoM. Annoying, but I figure it can't be altered to show bigger numbers since the 2 billion limit itself seems to be due to only a certain number of bytes being allowed for the number.

What is GA?

it should up the limit to 200 Exillion 200x1000sixth so
1,000,000,000,000,000,000 people, reachable on a huge or bigger sized map me thinks

Actually, because it is saved as an int, the max population is 4,294,967,296.;)
