...Turn 0: As I assumed command of our empire, I was instructed to make a few strategic moves...
Our Engineer marched south, as he heard news about building a palace in a place south of Uppsala. He was greatly confused as this was Ragnar's territory, but marched off anyway.
Meanwhile, our Engineers considered our plans of action...
1) Attack Ragnar solo. 2) Declare war and wait for Ragnar to attack us. 3) Attack Ragnar with Wang.
We decided that attacking Ragnar with Wang would be the best option as it would possibly hand us all the cities in the south...hopefully, Raggy will do the work for us. So, we trade optics and paper with Wang (We've got the Wonder and Bonus, so why do we care if he no longer has to write on tree bark?) We also trade with Mao, as he said that having our tradesmen in guilds would be good for us. Whatever Queenie...
Turn 1: Our wise ruler heard that Ragnar had discovered an engineering prodigy, and so we gifted him Divine Right...then declared war and began our march toward Nidaros.
Turn 2: We we're displeased that he decided to build a chruch instead...why...the ungreatful swine...so, we killed a Longbowman with impunity and marched south...
Turn 3: Bjorvin came into sight..and so did thier Beserker stationed there...and I got our first look at Uppsala...it's going to be a tough nut to crack...A man who seemed to understand science came to our attention, asnd was allowed to set up an Academy in London.
Turn 4 and 5: I beseiged Nidaros, and they catpulted a mace to death. No worries though...
Turn 6: Our troops were incredibly inspired, and pulled off an astoundign victory, where we lost a catapult, and they lost 5 bows, two catapults, and a Pike. Waking into Nidaros, the Horse Archer found enough supplies to arrange a hasty Knighthood. Our Engineer stayed outside with the troops while we secured the city...In addition, our young nobles are flocking to London. It seems Knighthood is popular.
Turn 7: It was an active day in the south, as we besieged three cities in quick succession. There was a heavy outbreak of guerilla fighting near Bjorn, as the two Axemen in the forests surprised a settler force moving through a rice paddy. They lost an Axeman, but took the settler. meanwhile, the Silver city of Lodose east of Uppsala was beseiged, and will be taken next turn. A scouting force encountered a light defence of two bows at ------, but laughed as they saw the 6 worker crews...perhaps they are making a peace ring? =)
Turn 8: Our armies figured out why the wokers were at Hiathabu. Apprently, they too wanted to learn the secrets of flying projectiles, and sent one to destryoy our Axemen. Our dismayed troops reported another one glowing with some unearthly light IN Haithabu. Our siege engine is scurrying there now.
Turn 9: Good news! Two highly promoted Korean Knights charged toward Hiathabu. We demanded and immediate audiance with them, and asked to to attack the city. They said they'd do their best.
Turn 10: We took it to the enemy this round, as our seige engine moved toward Haithabu, and the Koreans destroyed a rice paddy...in the north, we rounded the crest and observed the goings on in Bjorn...
Turn 11: Korea and England surrounded the cities of Bjorn and Haithabu...our generals reported the rather unprofessional behaviour of the Koreans, who were seen to pillage away. Our troops stayed focused and blasted the city with big and small rocks...In the north, we London was taken by storm by a bright young Engineer who had dreams of creating a great work like Da Vinci was going to do in the south. Lizze thought a bit and comissioned him to create a minaret in York - to the pleasure of the religious community.
Turn 12: Our armies stomed Haithabu in the early morning, surprising the sentries and destroying the main fortress. We suffered no losses and captured the enemy work teams. Our troops shall now focus on the last mainland city of Bjorn after our newly minted work crew restores roads...And, Da Vinci is complaining that the revolts at Nidaros are holding up construction of a shiny palace. Oh well.
Turn 13: While conducting reconstruction work, Mao came asking for Education, He requested Education. His payment? 150 Gold! I turned him down flat and demanded some token tribute for wasting my time. He agreed under duress. Then I sent him away.
Turn 14: We opened the siege of Bjorn-whatever. The city was well defended. Should be ours next turn though.
Turn 15: Our troops stormed the city as Korea stood by, and despite losing a few brave Knights to arrow shafts, we secured the city. HOORAY! In Nidaros, Versailles opened. Lizze was so pleased she allowed Da Vinci to set himself up in the merchants quater as independant contractor under contract to our majesty - of course.
