RK14 - Artist's Block

Played a massive 21 turn set. It took about 3 minutes! My “micro” consisted of fortifying troops in revolt prone cities, setting research to zero for a while, and upgrading warriors to machine guns. Not to mention swapping to Emancipation and then bulldozing over mature towns to put down farms. I wish I could say that was a first!

I love BUG/BUFFY whatever it is so very much for these little bits of addition it does for me. After activating the governor nationwide and hitting emphasize food to increase our population lead I check the Diplomatic Victory vote and see that the election for a new pope is next turn and that right now while we will be elected over Pericles easily we won’t win. So time to spin some positive diplo points.

Turn 344 – Sure enough we beat Pericles handedly. However we have a minor inconvenience everyone (everyone means Gilga, Cathy, KK) now knows Railroad and we still don’t have maximum fair trade bonuses with nothing to trade. This is why I recommended just gifting railroads =P

Minor inconvenience though as Sury was asked to research MS and nobody has this yet. So swap Railroad for MS and then graciously gift that to our friends. Also bribe KK and Gilga back into Theo/Judaism, but this is just for breathing room as both are friendly without religion bonus. Neither will sign a DP though due to non friendly relations with Sury and/or Hatty. Good thing Cathy signed one or I might be worried. Pericles and Willem would still be better targets, but CMA is something I whole heatedly adhere to in this game. :D. Any who diplomacy now looks like so after giving our best buds a military tech. Our vassals are worthless! Minus the whole getting MS from Sury thing.

As you can see above there are now 0 turns until the next vote and sure enough next turn we get the option to proclaim ourselves ultimate supreme grand papal leader guy. Also as the screen says we won said ultimate supreme grand papal leader guy vote. Our personal vote total swelled up to 536 that final turn. Who said that we didn't need bio again? Man that guy is a dumbass.

Ahem - Game over man! Game over!

The standard end of game screen shots and save attached. Well played guys, though I think this map script utterly sucks balls it was interesting at least.

And another one bites the dust. Nice play everyone. Last two RK's have been diplo victories. Now I see how each can be completed.

Cool, good job spotting the opportunity for a proper AP victory Lanksy. Can you post the replay or save one turn before victory? I like having these SGs in my hall of fame for posterity.

So what's next Meatbuster?

Man, if you've been watching CNN my country's capitol is a disaster area.

A powerful hurricane hit Manila!
[x] Buildings have been destroyed
[x] Citizens have been killed
[x] All the streets are flooded.

Ahem. I don't know, better to "diplomation" than have a dragging war when we're guaranteed to win (it just takes a while). Although bulldozing the AI is fun. :D

Let me think of something good. Right now the storm has sapped my creativity. :)

Gimme an hour.

Next game's roster:
Meat
Glare
WD
Lansky

Man I need to quit Paladins. It seems to not only go real slow, but it's un-fun to play as Charlie. Maybe I'll change my mind if I had Code of Laws at 4000BC.

Some people just don't regenerate dream starts like I do...

OH, I have an idea. We will be playing Bismarck, now to decide on map type...

Variant rules in this roleplaying SG:
1. ...will accede to any tech/gold demand from our friends.
2. ...will deny any demand from our enemies (annoyed or lower).
3. Once Steam Power is available, we will gift any Coal resource we have to an enemy civ. (1 per civ)
3a. We may agree to stop giving Coal if any of our friends request so.
4. Our civ's color will be red.

I'll check your replies or any other ideas later. :) Time to go to bed...

I don't get it, but then everything I knew about Bismarck and 19th century Germany is long gone. Don't really mind either way though, I'll play whatever. :)

edit: as far as other ideas are concerned, I did have one where, once we've built the Taj Mahal, we'd have to maintain a constant golden age until the end of the game. Obviously MoM would be very important, and probably Philosophical too as we'd need to amass a large number of GPs. I'm not sure how feasible this actually is but wouldn't it be nice to be in a golden age for dozens of turns nonstop? I think it would.

Here's the save for the turn before victory. Replayed a few turns from my 1680 autosave.

I do not understand that variant at all. We have to acquiesce to every demand from a friend, tell people who are annoyed (we already clearly don't care about) to bugger off, and give up all our coal?

What difficulty are we trying the next game on? Will greatly affect what sort of weird stuff I'd try to think of.

Cheers.

Personally I wouldn't want to go lower than Emperor for difficulty. But maybe it'd be better to come up with ideas and adjust the difficulty based on whichever we choose.

Think about Coal. Why are we gifting Coal to an enemy? They are naughty aren't they.

It's not related to Bismarck. Don't look at the Civilopedia. Give Bis a puffy beard and a more reddish outfit.

lmao

oh

Right now I wish I could mod really well and really quickly.

Santa Claus of the North Pole.
UB - Santa's Workshop replaces Factory
UU - too many to sift through

This would be a tough game diplomatically, which completely plays against my nature. I love manipulating the AI if you did not notice. Giving up all of our coal would suck but I guess that's the difficulty too. *shrug*

Well there's nothing that prevents Santa from gifting them techs for diplomacy or to declare war on naughty Monty...

Also so we have a chance of keeping coal, 1 per enemy is fine, so in case we have 3 deposits and 2 enemies... well you get it...
