well, ok.
i'm hoping the diplomacy you're waiting for is supposed to happen off the thraed, cause not much has happened on it either.

anyway. tomorow would be too soon as that basicaly makes it during the weekend. so lets just say........Tuesday evening.
i'll would like to do the update when i get home on tuesday after work.
this ofcourse doesnt mean that if you CAN send orders before then that you should wait, cause something will come up on the last minute and you wont be able to do them at all.

ok, i currently have orders from only TWO nations.

please send your orders by tonight (as in in the next 8 hours or so), cause i realy dont wanna spend time doing the update tomorow. Between Xmas Eve, packing to go off on Thursday and having to do everything i need to do at work before leaving for over a week, i wont have the time. and less time on xmas day itself (a lot of it spent in the air). and god knows what's going to be going on once i get to South Carolina, so i cant guarantee anything while there.
so PLEASE get your orders in asap so that i can do the update tonight and not worry about it again atleast till the weekend or something.

wrote up the whole update, all i had to do was attach the map, pressed backspace on my keyborad to get rid of the extra space on the bottom of the post and it somehow went "back" a page, lost the whole thing.

DAM it.
here goes again. from memory, so if i get anything wrong, sorry. the map is right, and that's what matters.

Italian Civil War
The Italian people are tired of their governments isolationist ways and in a protest gone horribly violent, overthrow the government. In the chaos that insues Italy devides into 2 parts, one joins Russia and the other joins France. The treasury is also pillaged and given to those countries as an offering to get them to accept the new "citizens". The Fleet admirals decide that the posibility (even remote) of fighting eachother would not be fun, so the whole fleet goes to Russia.

Territory 23[/i
is handed over to the Turkish by the Spanish. the Turkish THEN reinforce it.

Battles:
Territories 11 and 12
no fight, just abandoned land being taken by large armies.

Territory 57 Russia 16 vs Germany 14.
Attacking their former ally that betrayed them, the Russian armies overwhelm the Germans.

Territories 56 and 61 and 62
all are taken without a fight.

Territory 63 - Russia 13 vs Sweden 2
The Swedish armies kill one Russian army and then die. St Peter changes hands AGAIN.

Territory 66 - Sweden 10 vs England 8 (not sure of these numbers)
The Swedish hold off the attackers.

Between 64 and 68 - Sweden 10 vs England 10
the Swedish break through the English lines and go on to help in the attack on 68.

Terriotry 68 - England 14 vs Sweden 12
The English hold on to their initial foothold in this part of the continent.

Germany: at war with france and Russia. attacked Sweden a while back i think. trading with everyone else. (change your relationship to sweden to start that trade)
Sweden: at war with England and Russia. Got attacked by germany and Turkey (so they are currently the ones blocking those trades). tradingwith others.
Fracne: at war with germany. attacked england a while back. (to trade with england set your relationship to ally)
Engalnd: at war with Sweden. France doesnt like you. trading all others

it has been brought to my attention that italy giving up its units to France and russia can set a VERY bad example and opens up a LARGE hole in the trade rules (i wont go into details for now).

so i am editing the update to have the civil war in italy kill of their units. this shouldnt have a huge effect on France and Russia as their upkeep will go down by a lot and so they'll have more money to spend this turn (effectively i'm taking away half their units in italy), but it will give the other nations (especialy those at war with them) a turn to prepare for this massive change in the landscape.

well, this is an ungly trend.

i think for my next game i'll make it a rule that provinces cant be given away. cause this "i'm bored, just add my nation's lands to X" is seriously gonna screw up this game.

anyway, i've currently got 1 set of orders, and even those, i've gotten hints that i'm not gonna like what's in them.

if Heine's post can be considered orders, then that's two sets of orders.
the update was exactly a week ago. so it's clearly taken a while for you guys to get to this. so i'm gonna ask all of you to indicate in your orders just how interested you are in keeping this going. cause people are quiting left and right, and prety soon, the winner will be the person that waited to quit the longest and had the whole world "given" to him.

This was always a pretty slow NES, I have to say, but I like its simplicity, its not hard to send in orders despite the lack of interest.
