Rodent you may want to switch a few of the cav builds to something that can finish sooner and send them to speed up settlers. Places like Corfinium could change to a longbow. With those shields and maybe a few gold could finish a settler some where.

I also see a settler out past our borders with no escort. There is a road not far off, so a horse/knight may be able to get there. There is fog near it, so even a barb horse could jump out.

No need to apoligize for your turns or the time it took. It may be intense, but this is only a game.

I know exactly what you mean, we were never close, but I did make my peace with him before the Alzheimers took him away forever. At the viewing yesterday, I kept feeling like he was going to get up and do something ornery, he was always into practical jokes. I will miss him.

Yes, I did. I am partway through the 1240 AD turn. I will handoff when I finish 1250 AD. That should be sometime on Monday.

Multi Team Demo Game, C3C. I'm Turnplayer for Team Free and it takes me about 3 hours to play a turn (from download the save to posting the final portion of the turn log). The way PBEM works in C3C, you cannot save the turn halfway through a turn, like a normal game; saving ends the turn. We're on Turn 265 (1360 AD or so).

I'm part of Team Smurkz in the SGOTM (BtS), but I haven't had time to really get into Civ4.
 
I figured it out and looked at Ginger Ale's post on Krill. I played Demo games with Krill at Poly way back. I played a PTW demo game that took about 2 years. Some great players on that team, Axelman, Aeson just to name a couple.

Moonlight Serenade is connected, but on the side that faces Sumeria. We have a 6 slave stack that can connect it next turn.
In the northwest, up towards Japan, we have a settler ready to build next turn, north of Milano, with another settler due south of Milano.
In the same general area we have a settler in Saint Peters Basillica ready to head west.
The two Workers NE of Antium are slated to go help a third Worker on the mountain NE of Byzantium. When they arrive they should start a Mine; helping build the road will waste too many of their turns.
Where possible I've tried to keep slaves in big clumps; 12 or 24 for jungle clearing, 8 or 16 for marsh draining; 8 for just irrigation/chopping and 6 for road building. But there are still some groups of 2 slaves toiling away doing things.
We've got a settler by New Rome ready to move and build into the vastness between Global Warming and the Incan empire.
Another settler is in Pi-Ramssses, in the middle of the Egyptian jungle. Hate to waste it on clearing a jungle tile....

Here is an update to cover the first 5 turns. Probably will not get the next 5 in tonight, but you never know.

PRE:
Looks like we have been very aggressive as many units and armies are spread out all over the place. Several are red lined. We have a ton of land opened, what a job it will be to get rails up in all this land.

New Lutetia stop the barracks, can't see it making any troops at size one 1 and deep in the jungle. I am not really going around to check out all the towns, I just stumbled across it looking for settler builds.

Well maybe I will as the next place I see is Augustadorum. Size 6 not growing, so it can handle 2 specialist as it sits now.

I stop mining in Viroconium as it has no one to work the tile anyway. All 12 are on tiles and it has 24 food. No free pop. Want to get irrigation up in some of the places that could have specialist.

Stop the hill being mined in New Viroconium as well.
Move pop in some places that are working forest and get no shield.
Stop more barrack builds in far off tiny towns that will never be attacked or build units.
Move pop from plains tiles to grass tiles that have a river. Don't you love the gov?

Fanta making an MDI, no barracks, size 1.
Sell granary in Rome. probably should sell the temple, but skip it.
Switch it to a university.
Thebes needs a lib after the cav.
Berlin needs one more than Thebes.

Sell barracks in Salamanca, 1 shield. No more combat there.
More places need libs, so will need to keep an eye out to balance slipping them in with not slowing down the cavs too much.

Switch Trondheim to lib.
Sell off more barracks in places like Tonawanda that is making a settler.
Heliopolis put two pop to specialist.

Veli switch to university.

Antium, lets get a university up there after Copes, unless it starts Newtons. Do we have a pre for Newton?

I would guess Rome or Veli could start on something to get a small jump after they finish the uni going up. We will probably learn ToG before we could finish Copes.

Artaxata is nearly done with a cav and it has no barracks?? Not sure what to do, I guess a lib is the best thing now. Then a barracks and back to cavs.

It also needs one of the irrigated grass tiles to be mined.

RC Cola, I used to drink that as a kid. Anyway stopped the wall. Won't need it by the time it finishes and would have to rush it, if needed anyway.

New Pompeii switch musket to settler. Tempted to sell barracks, but will wait till later.
Mediolanum stop the cannon as it is a 40 turner. It will switch to artillery by then and need another 50 turns. I doubt we will need either in 40 or more turns.

Not sure how others feel about towns like Reykjavik. It is all desert, so it cannot feed any pop off of its tiles, until rails. An empire like this will not have the man power to rail for food here, so I like to starve it down to size 1 and let the center feed it. The 1 pop is a scientist and I get 3 beakers with no effort.

So I put both pop to sicence and get 7 beakers while it starves. Sell the barracks. I want say that this sort of thing is a never ending task in a game of this size. You can always find towns that needed a barracks or a wall at one point, but no longer. I have let several go, that probably could have been scrapped.

Places like Ulan... I left as we may need to upgrade the pike there, probably not. Once rails are up that barracks is certainly a waste. May be a waste right now.

I sell the harbor in Utrecht as it is not needed and the Dromon's could bust it anyway.

Faygo switch cannon to wall. Here is another of those towns that is all 1 food tiles, so I put the lone pop to science and stop all growth.

I looked at the Econ in CAII and it says we have 1134 in and 1150 out. The game now shows +19gpt? Yes I saved and then loaded CAII, so it has the current data. I checked as I see we have 12 taxmen, rather than scientist and I wanted to see if it was worth flipping them. Will wait, till after Physics is done.

Stop harbor in New Palmyra. It is a 1 shield town. Mostly mountains. It had a plains and a grass tile to work. It was never going to yield much in the way of specialist. The harbor just gives enough to feed the pop working the tile, no free pop. IOW if you ever get a rail to the two tiles you still only have 7 food, 2 center for 9.

That feeds 4 with 2 working. Who knows how long, if ever it will get rails. May as well save the harbor maint and get 1 specialist now. Give the grass to a town that can use it.

A quick look around and I do not see Spices, so I guess one of the unseen nations is on an island with all of them.

Move army to cover all the workers by Basilica.

IBT:
A 2hp cav retreated and then got killed. The 4hp army was attacked and it managed to retreat, but 3 workers were captured.

cav kill archer in Nagasaki and goes elite. Razed the town for 4 slaves. It is too far from the empire to want to hold. We have a massive borders on all points, so I won't be taking any towns.

It was said that Little Brown Jug is getting hit, but it only has a single pike in it? I move in a cav. Looks like they are passing by near Byz town.

Found a stack of slaves making a road on a hill way past any of our land? Move them back to our borders.
