Role Play Challenge: Paranoia!

My oh My, the god are TRUELY sadistic aren't they. Took me about a half hour just to figure out what's going on!

While I am spending ane eternity trying to fight off barbarians at sea, mend fences with my former friends, and deforrest the Amazon can someone post a list of all the changes done by the gods? That was a nice summery done for the last segment as I cannot remember all of the changes and what was added (Like lot's of land) or taken away Like ICE)

The Gods really are sadistic, this is so funny to watch and read Mad's reactions :P. This has to be the best game I've ever watched :P

Gryphn (Edited by CCRunner): Added 1 GG unit for every civ, 4 for the barbs.
matthewthegreat: Ruined relations with Justinian, added a bunch of Byzantine spies and privateers.
Celebithil: Encased 4 barb cities in mountains, and something else. ;)
BakingTheArt (Edited by matthewthegreat): Added a hell of a lot of new land between Byantinium and Ethiopia, created land bridge to the southern Barbarian continent.
apenpaap: Created the freaking Amazon in Ethiopia.
Joshua368: Melted the ice sheet
Diamondeye (Edited by matthewthegreat): Made every capital legendary.
asder: Created some rivers(?), set quest to take Ghuzz.
Stuck in Pi: Quest to take the horses on the eastern boundary of the Byzantines.
kurtkage: Made some Barb infantry on the island to the west.
Firewind: Major changes to every city, based on luck, including more buildings, destroying buildings, bigger army, and razing it to the ground.
Maaximillus: Barbarian boats everywhere. Everywhere.

Minor correction, I edited the save but in Gryphn's stead. The changes and story are his, not mine

Paranoia!: Part VI

Zara inspects his lands. Yes another day, and cascade of interferance from the gods, and while they think they are being smart and annoying Zara knows for a fact that this is for the best. Sure there are problems with barbarians and so forth, but two major aspects the gods have opened up for the Ethiopian people.

LAND and TRADE!!

Diplomacy is an issue, but while Zara dispises the gods and will never bow to their alter, he has a deep knowledge into the Physhe of the other humans and finds it easy to befreind them.

First of all, Zara looks at the world

ZaraF0000.jpg

Most of the ice has melted, yet we have NOT lost any lands!. In fact we have alot more land and resources, all within the cultural borders of our Legondary capital which was never our capital to start!

On the diplomatic front we find alot of indifference out there and an unfriendly and CLOSE Justinian.

ZaraF0001.jpg

The plan? We simply caved into almost every request except for Willem. Joao eventually crushed Napolean into capitulation eliminated the leader with teh shortest fuse.

Now we did find alot of extra land to the east which we settled three cities in during the segment, using the cultural trait to pressure Justinian.

ZaraF0002.jpg

I particularly liked the extra Jumbos. Sure we are past the war elephant era, but the extra happiness is nice.

We found an assortment of Great Generals

ZaraF0003.jpg

All looking for glorious soldiers to lead into battle. We eventually got a galleon over there for our GG (who we settled). I thought there was a quest associated with the GG, but the hell with it, Zara doesn't do quests.

And since we have astronomy AND no ICE we swapped civics

ZaraF0004.jpg

About 20 turns later it dawned on me that serfdom was the ideal civic here so I swapped to that.

Why serfdom???
Perhaps because the Amazon has spread to Ethiopia causing Zara to produce and excess number of

ZaraF0005.jpg

Yep workers. We also found some more later.....

Now those privateers were not that much of an issue. Out ships beat enough down and apparently the Ai really, really, really hates privateers. Needless to say, no more privateers.

The Ap did show it's ugly head

ZaraF0006.jpg

We voted for Justinian for diplo points!

We also made any lopsided trade we could, just trying to keep it close to eventually let our massive empire take the tech lead

ZaraF0007.jpg

Of course THAT depends on whether the interfering gods will let us live in peace. We opted for nationhood simply to save a few gold coins. Gotta love that Christo Redentor wonder!

Here we started "filling" in some cities

ZaraF0009.jpg

When we finished spamming workers into the world. Dam have I mentioned how much jungle we had!!!! There's even jungle in the desert!~

We finally got arround to taking out that Barb city to the south

ZaraF0010.jpg

Which unlocked a slew of workers, that were put to good use!

By the way, Zara certainly knew what to do with those excess soldier about! Not that Zara sat back on his laurels, the tech path went: Gunpowder/Chemistry/Replaceable Parts.

The remaining fillin wotk to the east

ZaraF0011.jpg

At this time the otehr leaders are really warming up to Zara, as these trade pushed two leaders to friendly

ZaraF0012.jpg

ZaraF0013.jpg

Zara is generous to the other AIs!

At this time we saved

ZaraF0014.jpg

Things are looking up! What to tech next??? Rifling or Corporation or democracy! As you can see in tech

ZaraF0015.jpg

Moving on up there! As most of the jungle is gone we are getting more and more commerce!

AND diplomacy

ZaraF0016.jpg

Joao and Pacal have revolted to FR, better for us. Justinian is pleased between the shared religion and the same civic.

So there you have it! What more do the gods have to offer!!!!

the god of the sea makes good upon his promise. unhappy because unknowing cooperation does not mean equal willinginess to cooperate. asder decides belovence is for fools and runs an icy finger around the world, plotting his next move...

Spoiler :
p.s.baking the art, may i ask that you leave the lands that border rivers when you flood his lands...please? and this way it wouldn't be unwinnable.

To all the gods, I plan on downloading the next save tomorrow after 5PM.

I'll be nice this time because I have something evil planed for next round .

I still find heathens in aksum and they have not repented! So, I send a great prophet to them. The prophet talks to them about much calamity if they don't stop their evil ways! We can hope they will change but so far they have showed no sign of any change.

Some good news! Time is healing relations with Justin!

Spoiler :
+2 diplo with Justin and a great prophet settled in aksum

okay ... don't know how to do this myself so here goes nothing
Spoiler :
someone change the barb cities south of Mad into Genghis of mongols and give him a ton of units and make him hate pretty much anyone (while they're indifferent towards him), roughly same techlevel as the middle of the tech ladder

Spoiler :
I am the god of Pirates yeh matey! You have made me mad for your lack of pillaging for your large Navy! I summon 50 Barbarian Privateers to roam the lands and 5 to concentrate on you!

I summon the Barbs of the South (that isle) Into my Netherlands! Who will have large cities (10) infranstructure and large fleets of ships and crew! They spite you and your land and wll seek to turn your allies against you!

If you capture the Great Cove of Pirates(West of Gondar with lots and lots of musketeers) You will find a prize of the future as my blessings. (+combat 1 and 2 to all naval units, + combat 5 to all land units. :) It will be tough! Also goes for the AI)

As Ethiopian soldiers charged through the high walls of Ghuzz, never before breached, the monolith cast a ghostly glow into the light. The gods could not protect the people that had disrespected them so by toppling the monolith, and only had the power to sit and hope for their sakes that the Ethiopian soldiers had enough wisdom to not to destroy it. This was not so. When the long siege of Ghuzz was finally over, won by the more advanced Ethiopian soldiers, they charged through the city, pillaging and raping, destroying the most beautiful city south of Yeha. When they worked their way to the city center, the monolith was taken down, destroyed, stripped of its gold, silver, and precious jewels. A rumble was felt, through the entire world, as if the gods who had once loved and cherished them so, picked up the world and had shaken it until it died. Flash floods broke out in the entire city of Ghuzz, miraculously destroying the entire Ethiopian force, yet killing only a handful of the Ghuzz. Outside of the city, warriors of the damned gathered, horses breathing fire and smoke into the air, men with out skin or flesh answering only to the king of Ghuzz. Kozlu Koy was revived on top of a mass grave of the Ghuzz soldiers who had died in the fighting, eager for revenge.

Perhaps more importantly, it rained in Ethiopia, for 40 days and 40 nights. Floods became commonplace, and once usable farmland was turned to swampy marshes. People retreated to the high ground of the new cities, only to watch as their land was slowly eaten by the rapidly rising waves. As the rain continued and farmland was destroyed, people were faced with a choice - drown in the countryside or starve in the cities. Many people chose the former, and the ocean grew putrid with decaying bodies as far away as the west coast of France. Finally, when the rain subsided, it was revealed that the land so recently was born from the waves was reclaimed. All left of what was once a rich land full of life were rocky islands people clung to, waiting for death to claim them like it had claimed their livelihood...

Spoiler :
* Transfer Ghuzz back to the barbs, with an army of 15 barb knights inside.
* Sink the area that had risen last turnset, putting all cities on 1 tile islands with no seafood (Excluding land bridge to Ghuzz).

The gods have become arrogant and haughty!

Be warned oh mighty Godlings! There is more power to Zara than thy knowest! His true power has yet to be unleashed if you push him!

Sounds like somebodies joining Divine Intervention next time around... ;)

:please:

Actually Zara was considering this RPC as he has been patient with so many gods running amock! But he is confident in his own abilities!

By the way, I know divine intervention is in the stories and tales forum, could you let me know when the next one starts! I never look at that forum and I think The two faced god of Technology and Insanity may have some entertaining contributions!

Will do :). Heck, just jump in now, the gods aren't set in stone. Round 3 is being posted tonight (hopefully)

Edit: Although insanity and technology are taken I think. Insanity isn't formally but based off of who DiamondEye based his god on this round, it pretty much is. Might I suggest God of Typos :)

:p
