The king of Ghuzz was known by no Ethiopian man. Cut off from the mainland of Ethiopia by sea and mountains, the valley of Ghuzz became a bustling city of over 800,000 people at its peak. At first, Ghuzz was only a settlement, bound only by the need of protection from the less friendly tribes, namely Ethiopia and Uzbek. Yet, as with all society, a leader rose to power shortly. All attempts of diplomacy with the king resulted in the messenger never being heard from again, the body washing up on the coast of Ethiopia weeks later. The government regarded Ghuzz as a target, little more than barbarians needing civilizing. None knew what the Ghuzz regarded the Ethiopians as, but by the state of the washed up bodies, it couldn't have been very good.

The King of Ghuzz, Kozlu Koy, was restless. The presence of the gods had been felt so much in the past decades, it could only be a matter of time before the gods take their wrath out on the people of Ghuzz, destroying the kingdom he had built for so long. Deciding he must act first, he prayed. Weeks passed, without the ruler moving, eating, or sleeping. He sat quietly in his chambers, eyes closed, muttering under his breath. Finally, a voice came to him, a pounding, powerful, angry voice: "I am sending you a monolith. This will go in the city center as a monument to the gods. In return, your kingdom will gain divine protection and favor. Above all, do not topple the monument." Koy passed out immediately, exhausted from the effort.
A monolith was found in the foothills of The Great Ghuzzian Range was found within the week. Shipped over by sheer man power alone, it soon stood tall in the center of the city, a symbol to the power of the gods. Ghuzz experienced enormous growth that year, and tribes considered threats before were now slaves to the chosen people of the gods. A revolt by the Gohu tribe, however, ended the prosperity gifted by the gods. Although the revolt was put down immediately, slaves had already toppled what they took to just be a symbol of Ghuzz domination and Gohu repression. Instantly, a rumble was heard in all lands of the earth, as if the earth itself was fearful. Water retreated from the shores, and mountains crumbled under the force of the gods. Ghuzz buildings were destroyed in seconds, the city left in rubble The monolith was put back up, and even though it was now supported by the bodies of slaves, the damage had already been done. The world had been changed.
