The Amazon Queen: Part VI
Merry Christmas to all!!!! A very Celtic Winter Solice too as Boudica helped herself to a little more Holiday land! Let's see what our Ice Queen has install!
We decided to cave in to popular opinion and finish off the Babylonian King
Sure we have a big militayr lead but things are not so easy as you think, Nasty RPC rules and all. Still we started off reasonably well.
NOTE::: To make clear I did relaod from the automatic save menu once as I accidently sent a defending longbow from a former Bablylonian city, something I did not intend but was accidently attached to a knight.
After getting Victoria pleased by giving her Optics at her request we bribed her into this
My thinking is to keep her and charlemagne busy for while.
Victoria did a decent job of damaging Charles
While we kept at Hammurabi.
Our techpath this segment went: Gunpowder/Nationahood and start Military Tradition.
An annoying aspect of the RPC rules
So we opted for Organized religion, then converted back to theocracy.
We advanced onto the Babylonian capital
Which had a nice surprise
The GLH wonder!!!!
Meanwhile Victoria asked for our assistance against Charles (oops, didn't think that far ahead in the RPC rules) thus we got thrown into a 2 front war.
It cost us
Dang, lost the HRE former capital. Ah well, we shall recapture it at a later date.
So we fight a 2 front was, not about to let Hammurabi off the hook here
We razed that city to avoid even more cultural pressure from Vicky.
Soon the war horns blare again and Cathy finds herself dogpiled.
We finally made peace with Charles, getting 30 gold. Time top concentrate on Hammurabi first.
At this point Hammurabi wanted to capitulate to us which we refused, thus he capitulated to Victoria
The bad news is that she's the only AI with power numbers close to us, the good news is she sucks at warfare.
So after fighting off some English troops we continue our assault on Hammurabi, adding Muskets to our forces.
We took out that former HRE city Vicky captured and razed it
After teching nationalism we managed to nab education from Cathy
We lost the education race bigtime but no concern.
FINALLY, the last Babylonian city, or so we thought
We kept it claiming all the Babylonian core cities
And we took peace with Victoria.
We saved a few turns later, but here are the lands to the west
A few HRE cities and one lone Babylonian city. To clarify an RPC rule, we do NOT have to utterly destroy Hammurabi if he's vassaled to Victoria, in fact we are obligated to NOT attack them unless we are in danger of losing.
OK we saved here while cleaning up a bit and loading up units along the HRE border.
Techs
Again not bad.
Demographics
We did revolt to mercantilism as that gets us more useful options.
So there we are, preparing to make a last assault on Charlemagne. After that we can see who is out there next, Suryavarman is getting fairly large and causing real trouble. Of Tech-manian Mansa needs to be eventually eliminated!
