Ah Comrades, Soviet airforce is in the plans. First Airports to train best Soviet pilots available. Next Soviet production so strong we have massive airforce by the time Soviet Navy sails to Stupid French Holy Roman Emperor's shores. We then transport planes and reinforcements to new Soviet city!

Don't forget to fly over units to tamed privileged newly acquired Soviet cities!
Excellent, excellent. The Holy Romans will be shown that just being holy does not mean that the skies are their friends. Their supposed "hell" can come from above just as easily. Make sure that there are a few fighters to back up the wonderous flying bomber fortresses. If an enemy were to get flight it would be a shame to see inferior foreign fighters winning battles against the Soviet bombers.

Umm, you should be careful. Soviet production can easily be smashed with several Nukes, Wang could be a credible threat.

Comrade Lenin: Victory!
Welcome Comrades, to our final episode! There is much to discuss here.
We start by teching towards Sputnik using our strong Soviet production cities to produce parts. Meanwhile we pay the Little French Holy Roman Emperor a visit.
We remember you sneaky ways Napolean, and to pay you back
Now Comrades, even though Napolean has infantry his defenses are very pitiful, his troops falling beneath the Soviet red Army like wheat to the Scythe.
We simply landed the entire stack, mencius and all. We decided to leave Mencius with this deal, stay with the Cossacks and if any survive, he survives. If they all die, then does he! Simple Soviet Strategy!
Once the first city is captured we head towards next in-land city using Soviet Bombers to soften defenders up!
We then got major surprise.
Ah AP vote. We abstain. However rest of world declares on napolean, apparently we are not only one who do not like Holy Rome.
We capture next city
And split forces in two directions to take as much land as possible.
We then get another major surprise
We agree to let another satellite nation into the Soviet Union! However this move has a more profound impact on the world situation.
Apparently we are now at war with the Romans and the Holy Romans. Just say we fight all Rome and leave it at that!
The some Holy Roman soldier shows our troops mercy
Being good Soviets we refuse and continue attack. We shall NOT give up, only destruction or sujegation of enemy is acceptible.
We finish clearing the continent of Holy Romans
And load our remaining troops into our navy to take off coast city.
Being part of Soviet Union, Wang of England is willing to trade
(Oh how I love 3.19!)
We take off-shore Holy Roman city
And discuss terms with Napolean
The Little Frenchman was not really in a position to negotiate.
But now how about other Rome. well Hannibal does not have Infantry yet so we send all Soviet T-34 tansk south
And we quickly overrun two major Roman cities
Causing Hannibal to seek peace.
So Comrades, we have three vassals and control of 2 of the 3 continents. How does this leave us for victory
Domination is still far enough off. So we work on Sputnik.

We are doing well in technology
Ah, but you ask what about the Prophet Mencius???

we sent all Cossacks onto suicide attacks against Napolean. However a few actually survived thanks to flanking II promotions, much to our disappointement. Still Mencius was grateful and rather cowed. Once released into Medina he scurried quickly to construct
And devoted the shrine to worshipping Horse Dung, bringing in surprising amounts of gold. Very neat and Pragmatic!
So we sit down a relax waiting to finish Sputnik parts, ah but the life of a leader is not a peaceful one.
First wang offers a nice trade
And then
Ah, the United Nations built by Agustus! Perhaps we can manipulate the world diplomatic situation for a victory.
Of course we are elected Chairperson of the UN.
Then Superior Soviet scientists develope
Ah, Mehmed the American lacks the technology to build ICBMs while Agustus the Viking lacks Uranium. We spam ICBMs like they were Vodka mills!
So we try th Diplomatic Victory, but lose by a very narrow margin.
But we are patient and the Soviet Bear is sleeping, dreaming of spaceships to the stars!
We are also less threatened by Great People and allow the Soviet People some time for a Golden Age, for Comrades these the Golden Years of teh Soviet Union
See the Glory of the Soviet cities in production and science! Note Comrades, that research is strictly from Specialists as our slider is 80% culture, 20% gold!

I simply do not understand why the Mehmed of America just declared war on us!!!!
Soviet Soldiers are tired and want to enjoy Golden Age, so we try and stop war by UN.
we sink a few American ships and wait for peace. We hold our hand back with our Nuclear weapons, not wanting to recklessly waste lives.
I sincerely tried Comrades, but this stupid American asked for it.
No Soviet Soldier dies, but we non-stop Nuked the Americans. Very soon Mehmed was willing to talk peace
Now we can finish Sputnik.
One turn from finishing it. The Mehmed canceled a trade we forced on him for his gold resource. I am a sensible man Comrades, but this is stupid. I told him to just give me the amned gold, and what followed
What is stupid American thinking???? Is this what Democracy is??? Comrades, give me the Soviet State any day!
The UN vote comes up again
I have seen enough, we opt for Diplomatic Victory
And next turn
we finish Sputnik
AND
MAgnificent Comrades!!!!!!!!!!! We have controled the UN, been first to Space with Sputnik (it will land Comrades, it will land), and dominated all but one Empire!

Soviets were top in Power, however Vikings were very repsectable.

I have tried this before and while I can play well enough at emperor it sometimes adversely affects the flavor and flow of the RPCs. The RPCs are not about continuing to up our game like the ALCs, it's about enjoying a good story line with entertaining results.
Still the next RPC I will likely up to emperor as I think with the rules we can handle it.

Even food was not needed at teh end. I workshopped most of the farms by the end. Resource food (and I was lucky to get alot) watermills and workshops! Also windmilled every non-resource hill!

Mad, it would be really fun to see your "hammer and sickle" economy on a big landmass with fewer harbours, but rivers, to really convince the sceptics that this game was not a fluke. If you're up for it, I humbly suggest Stalin or maybe Putin on an Emperor Earth (Marathon optional).
The plan is simple: settle/rush, build up phase, conquer for Mother Russia!
Also I would very much encourage you to play alternative historical leaders of the different nations. It's great fun to read your portrayals of them!
