Rolling Stone mag sued for $25 million

I'm a little skeptical Rolling Stone has $25 mil in assets, let alone in cash. I could see them frantically trying to settle, since losing a case, even if they won on appeal, might liquidate the entire enterprise. Gawker is struggling with the same thing right now.

Don't get sued, media companies. It's super expensive!

I'm not familiar with American media, but places that can't fund their own legal defenses here tend to purchase libel insurance.

I'm not that sure $25 million is enough to qualify as "going for the jugular," but at first glance the figure seems rather excessive.
