For some reason, this Reagan leaderhead kinda reminds me of Leonard Nimoy

:lol: SoGgy said the exact same thing.

I've never really been convinced of that... I think we are much more in danger now with individual people or organizations detonating nukes. I doubt that anybody in October 1962 would've been willing to obliterate all human life on Earth just to prove a point. The Soviet leaders weren't just a bunch of raving maniacs... they wouldn't kill themselves, their families, their friends... even if they and their wives and children survived, it would a life in a bunker with little or nothing to do and the thoughts of all the dead on the outside. If it's a choice between abandoning your little scheme and losing some face and Nuclear Holocaust, it's a no brainer!

No, we've been very close to nuclear war, but most of the times when we were much closer was by accident. One occasion was when NORAD left a training program in the computer and it activated and a bunch of tech people at headquarters were looking at a full-scale nuclear assault from the Russians. Until somebody realized it was just a training program.

Or another time just after the fall of the Soviet Union when the US and Norway launched a satellite into space but forgot to warn the Russians and for a few minutes it looked like it was an attack. Boris Yeltson had the system activated and ready to go before he decided to wait and see what happened. Eventually, the missile veered away from Russia and extinction was averted again.

Anyway, you could do a scenario of one of the proxy wars of the Cold War. Or you could do it on the collapse of the Soviet Union. Or you could do an alternate history.... no idea what it could be an alternate history of, but it could be something.

Excellent leaderhead Rita Poon. I think old Abe just got dumped. Thanks. :)

Reminds me of the Red Alert games by the now extinct company Westwood. I agree with you that Al-Quida and those other groups are more dangerious than the union was in a way.

*Singing* Ohh... put the Flag up to the top! Its been over a month! He was a lousy actor and a worse President! Screwed up our country really really bad! HEY! Screwed up our country, Really Really Bad! But atleast the leader head is really Goooo-ooooooooo-ooooooood!

And If you try to flame me, just remember this: Ronald was insistant on this 'Star Wars' project. He threw Billions at and and All it every Developed was a stupid animation of a blue satelite turning and firing a green line at a red missile. Oh, and I'm probably not going to check this post again so I won't read what ever ;crafty' retort you have to say. (which will be: 'but he Ended the Cold War!' Which he didn't.)

whatever...keep your lefty BS off this forum, will ya? why detract from mr. poon's fine piece of work?

good job rita!

Oye... :rolleyes: See? This is what I was afraid of. Although Goldflash opened the door, I'd like to point out that having a conservative opinion doesn't make this any more the time or place for political argument/mud-slinging... let's all (future posters too) agree to drop it.

I'm not without my own political pinions of course, but here I will not express them, in the interests of keeping this civilization forum --well--civilized

Backgrounds:

Ancient Era=Neptune Pool at Hearst Castle
Middle=Jamestown Colony
Industrial=Settlement in the hills of California (Side note-this particular place was actually Russian territory during the Ind era)
Modern=White House

There's a definite CA feel to this leaderhead. Toyed with the idea of putting Reagan in front of the Hoover Institute (Stanford) for the Modern era. Mod & Anc eras are already rendered. Will render the Ind & Mid on Monday. Should he have a beard in the Ind era?

What kind of a beard are we talking about? He looks like he has the whole
'Daniel Boon' thing going for him in the industrial era, so if he has one, he should have big 'frontiersman'-type beard.

Yeah, I would think the beard would be more appropo in the frontiersman one rather than the pilgrim one.

Btw, it looks like some of these clothes have no textures like the Pilgrim? Am I right?

I like--great idea! the previews you had for era-specific clothing, etc are right on the money! i will certainly download this when it is finished!

Will see what I can do about the beard. Haven't textured the Middle ages yet. Plan on making that thing around his neck a little more frilly/lacey.

I always thought the Pilgrims were the clean-shaven type...

IIRC, short hair was a must because long hair was thought to be too feminine & vain. Shaving the face was probably frowned on, too.

You should make the background in the middle ages lighter, because its hard to see where his hat ends, so it looks like it's expanding outwards.

California wasn't Russian during the Industrial Era. It was Spanish, then Mexicans, and then American. By the way, what the hell is he wearing?

Good leaderhead.. I'm confused about his devolution from wearing a Puritan's attire to a tribesmen's.

Maybe a combo of Victorian-era suit and coonskin cap could be an interesting touch... But I think it's good the way it is too. I mean, like it or not, the Puritans did come before the Mountain Men.

Thats not entirely true. Ever hear of the Russian River?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Ross

Parts of CA were once under Russian control-including the scene shown in that picture.

Should be easy enough to lighten up the Middle age background. Will get right on that.

re: his clothing-John Fremont (CA's first Senator) dressed like that for Presidential campaign posters. Had a picture in a textbook somewhere...
