Hi guys,
I really love Civilization, the main problem I have with this game its that this is a turn-based strategy.
I really hate TBS so I would like to know if there is a game like Civilization but only a RTS game.
Thanks in advance.

Rise
Of
Nations

Check it out, cause its by the huge brain behind Civ 2(Brian Reynolds) :)

Yeah I used to play this game alot. Though I dont think its really like Civ.
I want a game with most of the option of Civ. (Like making relationships with other nations)

One of the Europa Universalis games. I only played the second one. It's set between the years 1419 and 1820, measured in days. It's probably the closest one to Civilization.

There's also Hearts of Iron 2, which is set before, during and after World War 2 (measured in hours), and focuses on war and combat.

Crusader Kings, set between 1066 and 1453 (measured in days), and focuses on maintaining a dynasty.

I haven't played any of the others.

I also recommend Paradox Interactive's games. I have played most of them, but Europa Universalis II is my favourite, and I have played it for some years now. If you want to take a closer look at EUII or any other of the games, you could take a look at their forums for example, or look around in this forum. There's plenty of AARs here (stories from the game, that is) that will give you some nice information about the games. For example, here's the AAR that got me hooked on EUII: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=130751

Also, PI have another "big" game: Victoria. It's set between 1836 and 1918 (IIRC). Most of the games got expansion packs too.

How about Rome or Medieval II: Total War? I'm going to get Medieval II once two things occur.

1. My dad installs a new desktop in my playroom.
2. I can get Medieval II and its expansion pack in one box.

The Total War games are TBS. The battles are RTS, but the key factor of success in RTW (the only version I've played) is economic management of your empire, which is in the TBS part of the game.

Without having played it, I assume Empire Earth is similar to Civ but RTS. Not too sure on that though.

I've heard nothing good about Empire Earth (or maybe it was the second one) is a horrible game.

I second the paradox games, there is a demo for Europa Universailles 3 too. They have a steep learning curve but there are lots of guides on the forums and on the EUIII wiki. As well people on this forum will gladly help :)

Umm.....I hate to break it to you guys but EU is only Real time in a technical sence, its so slow that it may as well be turn based but I think hes looking for something thats more faster paced like your standard RTS.

Exactly.
Games like Rise Of Nations, Age Of Empire but just features like Civ.

And thank you all for you recommendations, maybe I'll buy a Paradox game.

Empire Earth and the Empire Earth II are great games, although Empire Earth III is kinda mediocre. The original one feels a lot like Age of Empires and the 2nd one has its own feel, which is why I think it's better than the 1st one.

IGN ratings
Empire Earth - 8.5
Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest - 7.8
Empire Earth II - 8.9
Empire Earth II: The Art of Supremacy - N/A
Empire Earth III - 5.4

Gamespot ratings
Empire Earth - 7.9
Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest - 5.2
Empire Earth II - 8
Empire Earth II: The Art of Supremacy - 5.4
Empire Earth III - 3.5

EE3 ruined the historical aspect trying to cover millenia with 5 ages.

I found the original's "500 000 years" quite funny, not that it would be relevant but...

I liked EE1, because it had quite good scenarios. I prefer campaigns and scens to random map games in RTSs as they usually have more strategy. In Civ I like both types.

I think Rome Total War and Rise of Nations are your two best choices.

I created a poll in order to let me know which Total War game I should get and Medieval II won the poll, despite me voting for Rome. I'm going to get that once there's a "golden" edition for it.

What do you mean by "holden edition"?

As if you want to get both M2 and Kingdoms together that may make you wait for some time.

Rome and it's expansion can be found in a gold edition already.
