Ruff06 - Testing / Illustrating BUG!

tried several times already. other games load fine. I've got BUG loaded of course ~ :dunno:

Can anyone other than pholkherina load the save and confirm the CTD ?

i can and have and the game opens fine.

i was having problems with another game before, where the BUG wasn't backward compatible. I have 2.20 loaded, but whoever it was had 2.11, and it was constantly reseting back to 2.11, and even wiped out my bug ini file :crazyeye:

still, other saves play fine. maybe if someone else can play, i'll try it after that??

Officially GreyFox could be the next, but he's busy with PH09 :p
So I swap myself in, as I can't play next week anyway.
Will make the progress this evening, hopefully won't forget it

BUG11.jpg

Xian ready to be sieged, our forces there: 2 cannons, 2 rifles, 4 cavs. Another units could head towards Beijing
BUG12.jpg

It's a shame I just found in the log, haven't realized while playing
Bismarck(Germany) declares war on Ruff06 [X-Tokugawa](Japan)
Qin Shi Huang becomes a Vassal State of Bismarck

We have a nice stack up north, sieges upgraded to cannons, we need some grens, as Bismarck has Rifles+Cavs. Next tech could be Assl. Line.

Also got a GE, what to do with him? Iron works, Wall Street or a Corporation?

I can actually take it if fox wants to stop procrastinating w/ph09 and play that. I iwll do this after fox09 and he can take THIS after me :D confused?

also, hwat is the trigger to get teh battle stats dumped?? alt+what?

Alt-B for the battle stats. I cannot believe Bismark - he was a good buddy of ours.

I don't think the AI takes into consideration war when accepting another AI as a voluntarily vassal state. I think the game should ban any AI in a war to vassal to another Civ which is not privy to the war.

So, let see, as I have already finished Ph09, where does that leaves us?

omg ~ you're so pushy ;)

i've already played. I've got a few other household things to do here, but am putting together the report as soon as I'm done

sheesh

thought about merely editing my previous post, but . . . :mischief:

Nothing much but warfare these 10 turns.

I made some headway in China:
Img01.jpg

IMg02.jpg

IMG09.jpg

And promptly set up shop with some good Japanese pholk:
IMG03.jpg

We fended off a couple demands:
IMG04.jpg

IMG05.jpg

Kublai also cancelled our resource deal, unfortunately.

However, we apparently pissed somebody off:
IMG06.jpg

I spied this stack heading west to the Spanish lands to our north:
IMG07-1.jpg

Just in time for Biz to show up with his stack:
IMG08-1.jpg

I was able to wipe out the Bizstack that showed up, losing only a few canons. The Spanish stack remainds just a couple tiles above . . . uh . .. our northwestern city.

Other details:
* Bio came in and I went with AssLine.
* We got a random event Kyoto for a +1 :food: to the Grocer.
* We got a GE that is on hold for now.
* and I tried to get the whole AP voters into the war w/Izzy, but it failed.

Biz will give us this for peace:
IMG10-1.jpg

Let’s take it and wipe of Izzy.

How are we planning to win this anyway??

Finally, my BUG feature is the Advanced Unit Naming system that I’ve been toying with.
IMG11-1.jpg

Including my miscode of the siege here, these are my Industrial era naming conventions for the units.

Got it. Based on tradition, I should play this 48 hrs later and report in 72. ;)

How about this: The scout salute and says: "read between the lines."

Anyhow, you should finish a turn before passing it. Also, automating workers at time of war is bound to guarantee a rant or two from any player, not to mention the Grumpiest of them all.

I first raised culture by 10% and whip cities where there are more angry faces than the whip cost. Also, in the inherited turn, did the following:

Ruff6-AD1840-Tianjin-GG.jpg

That's right razed Tianjin, got a GG, and attach him to an explorer to get a medic III morale boosted explorer. I had also re-arranged the troops in the northern city so that the next turn, I wipe out the spanish invaders.

See what I mean by finishing your turn?

The razing continues after pressing enter:

Ruff6-AD1850-Zaragoza.jpg

And the Chinese are no more.

Now that Bismarck lost his pet dog, I sent him my condolences and offered him peace.

Ruff6-AD1850-peace.jpg

This removed most war weariness, and I reduced culture back to zero. Meanwhile, our scientists got us Assembly Line:

Ruff6-AD1854-assembly-line.jpg

I have not upgraded any of our super-duper CR rifles to infantry, but we have quite some cash from the war, and next player can do that once the CR rifles finish with the northern spain cities.

And I think the GE should be used to complete 75% of the pentagon in the capitol once the Hindu Mandir is completed.

I did try to instigate a holy crusade against Isabella ...

Ruff6-AD1858-votes.jpg

But no one is interested. Hmm, I go razed more city of spain alone:

Ruff6-AD1856-Asturias.jpg

and settled two cities amidst the war:

Ruff6-AD1854-city-settle.jpg

Ruff6-AD1856-Toyama-settled.jpg

Razed more cities:

Ruff6-AD1859-razed-spain.jpg

Don't worry, next player also get to have some action in the east:

Ruff6-AD1860-spain-forces.jpg

Now, one word of caution. Sally revolted to vassalage, slavery, and theocracy. He is furious at us (and only us), and is the only AI that has more power than us.

Ruff6-AD1860-sally.jpg

It doesn't need an oracle or a a deck of tarot cards to predict that he would declare within the next few turns. So keep an eye.

Personally, I don't see a clear path of winning this game. I would have concentrated on the space race when the first ring is completed instead of trying to do a second ring. Now that it is committed, I can't see how it helps in winning. Conquest? Domination? Space? Diplo? Culture? Time? All seems improbable at this stage.
