Here is what I see as what's wrong:

1. Move the date up to at least 1900.

2. If you do that the Philippines and Guam should become American.

3. You should make a special Tech Tree.

4. Why does every one have Frigates and Galleons? Ironclads made wooden warships obsolete back during the late 1850s and 1860s.

5. Why is French Indo-china in the Ancient Age?

6. Goes along with no. 3. China should not be in the Middle Ages. If you fix 3 this is one part that you should fix.

Here is some comments on some posts:

1. @GeneralMeng- No part of Manchuria belonged to China.

2. @Dataforge- The Spanish-American War happened in 1898 lasted for 15 weeks.

3. @Bombshoo- The Russo-Japanese War was 1905-1906.

4. @Bigmeat- What war are you talking about? Neither the Spanish-American War nor the Russo-Japanese War happened before 1897.

5. @Montedantman- There is a Korea.

No korea????

During the Russo-Japanese War, the Japanese controlled Korea. They achieved this by defeating the Chinese in the Chinese-Japanese War of 1895. Therefore, no independent Korea.

why is Mongolia independent?
and the Europeans should own some of the Chinese coastal cities.

In 1905, Mongolia was independent from both China and Russia. And the only coastal cities that should be controlled by the Europeans, aside from Hong Kong, which is shown as controlled by Britain, is Macao controlled by Portugal and Tsingtao controlled by Germany.

some poor countries still used wooden frigates. In AoI countries in Latin America have them.

Actually, by 1905, the Latin American Navies were busily upgrading their ships to the most recent versions, or at least, more modern versions. I would say that what you might do is use the Frigate graphic to represent the smaller scout and protected cruisers used by both side, with correspondingly upgraded combat data, use the cruiser graphic for the armored cruisers used, and the battleship graphic for the battleships used, again, adjusting the combat ratings.
