As I said, I probably did some changes to xmls years ago. Never thought I'd be playing MP

Reinstalled the whole thing just to be sure

When you re-install, make sure to delete the file for the game in your program files. Sometimes, the uninstall doesn't delete it.

You know how the Delete key sends something to the Bin? Shift-Del sends its straight to oblivion. (i.e. it deletes it immediately)

oh

couldn't you just click "delete all" on the bin and it would have the same effect?

The point of shift-del is that you don't have to go through the bin at all. See a folder you don't like? (i.e. what remained of civ after uninstall)
shift-del! no more folder!
It's just a tad quicker.
