I learned to eat it down under.

And yet I cant make any sort of joke without breaking forum rules. Mental cruilty I call it...

Sure I like S+V but the world of snack flavorings has opened up so much in the last ten years its just amasing. Thai Sweet Chilli, Paprika, Flame Grilled Steak, Roast Chicken with Lemon and Thyme, Lime and Coriander Popadoms. I bow and scrape unworthy before the magnificance of Walkers Snack Food Ltd, and give thanks for their munificence.

I think its funny that "potato chips" are called crisps in england. You british are wierd.

Nope, I'm not a fan of the salt and vinegar. I'm not a huge fan of chips at all, if I want salty, I tend to have pretzels.

Bah - this from a culture that doesnt draw a distinction between thick cut chips and french fries :mischief:

The thick ones are called steak fries.

Anyhow, who likes S&V?
They're great, but not as good as sour cream and onion :)
Prefer smoky bacon. Sea salt and black pepper are good though.
I'll eat salt & vinegar if no other kind is available, but I don't really like them. I'm just addicted to potato chips. :crazyeye:

Smoky bacon is good, and I discovered that I really like salt and pepper.

some people have this strange idea that french fries are chips.....
French fries are chips in some contexts... I would never think of ordering "fish and french fries" -- it's always "fish and chips."

Nobody here likes BBQ? I cant beileve im the only one who mentioned it.
Patience... I love BBQ chips, as long as it's Old Dutch or Lays. Other brands aren't as good because the taste is off.

You can't have proper fish & chips without vinegar!
I believe that vinegar is one of the ingredients in ketchup and/or barbecue sauce, so that's how I get it on my chips. :p

Three best potato chips flavors
Salt and Vinegar (though it burns a hole through my mouth
BBQ
Sour Cream and Onion
Disagree about salt & vinegar, but the other two would be on my top 3 list. :)

My choice for the third spot? Pizza. Specifically, Pringles Pizza-flavored chips. But I do recall a long time ago when Hostess used to have pizza flavored potato chips, and those were the best chips I ever tasted. Hostess also used to make a sublimely spiced taco chip, but that hasn't been available for years. :(

Are they common in the US or have you just not been in Maryland before? I mean, the idea is sort of strange, something only a people without any sense for taste of food whatsoever could invent. Hell, they put vinegar on their fries/chips.

Yeah they're very common in the US. I think they are so disgusting that just smelling them would make me barf. Then again, I used to have a slightly better tolerance considering I also used to put vinegar on my fries as well.

I may be missing one or two... :p
