Scariest game ever?

When I started playing Legend of Zelda:Ocorina of Time I was scared a little when the zombies come out and hurt you. Now I just laugh.

FEAR kinda freaked me out a little. But I really am not scared of scary games.

The original Resident Evil.

That dog through the window bit was OMFG scarey ****. Especially since I ran out of amo the first time.

The other being RE2 with the hands coming out from the windows and grabbing you (me).

I remember that part too.

Maybe it's just the fact that I've played a lot of scary games and possibly developed an immunity to them--

--but for me, the ultimate in heart-attack level scariness has gotta be good old Doom. That is, Doom 1. At the end of the first episode, I took that first step into the final arena--and was greeted by two boss monsters who gave a discordant howl that literally made me jump out of my chair.

No other game since has even come close. Thief and Splinter Cell have good scare levels, but in a different way because the sinister monster lurking in the shadows happens to be me..... :)

I don't think Half-Life 1 is creepy. OPPOSING FORCE IS CREEPY! When you have to go down the tunnels on your bill with them giant spider-things... (blood runs cold) It took me ages to do that, it was scary! I always turn the music off.

Vampire the Masquearde...the house was pretty creepy.

Wow, creepyest game ever has to be far cry on pc. When you walk on the bridges, and then all of a sudden one of those monkey things jumps up like 35 feet and lands behind and starts attacking. Man, that's pretty scary.
Or in FEAR in the first level when you're on the roof and you go around the dumpster and BAM! you get smacked in the face by the cannibal, or even just previous to that when you're walking and a mutilated face just flashes at you. Uh....

Well, the one game I remember that actually made me feel uneasy (or at least weary of the prospect of running in another monster) was Doom 3. Really, the confined space, the poisonous environments, the monsters creeping from unexpected places, and the always scary zombies....

And when the light fades out, and you hear that evil evil laugh, and satanic red glowing symbols start dancing on the wall
