SciFi/Fantasy Unit Graphics

Flashback from Apolyton, Dec 2005. Plus a couple of extras.
I am making an exocrine bio-artillery but I cant find the time to finish it.
If they look exactly like the Zerg, it is because Starcraft supposedly started as a WH40k game but GW managed to screw up another deal.
Tyranids are themselves at least a partial rip-off of James Cameron's Aliens.

Those are indeed some excellent Tyranids! Hot water reservoir!
Love them.

I was tinkering around trying to make a Starchaser Starfighter from Star Wars, but I'm feeling I'm falling short. I'm not really making anything specific, but I was wondering if anyone would help me make a better one? Below is my basic effort and the fighter art I based off of. Yeah, I'm an amateur ^^

My basic effort

My source image; It was from a Star Wars Rebellion Mod made during the old times. Surprisingly I still had the fighter image, but I lost the mod files a long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

The Starchaser could perhaps be called a pocket Y-Wing. It shares a similar armament of two ion cannons, two laser cannons and a pair of warhead launchers, though it carries a smaller payload. It is arguably a better fighter being more maneuverable and faster, closer to the Headhunter in performance, but it is fragile and lightly shielded. Indeed, the Headhunter is its closest competitor in the "affordable fighter" category. In the end the detractors of the Starchaser will say it lacks the durability of a strike fighter, and it's short of having the performance to be a reliable superiority fighter. Once upon a time it might have been one of the best multipurpose fighters in the galaxy, but by the time of the Galactic Civil War it was at best a second line patrol fighter which suffered greatly if taking part in larger engagements. It could not compete with more advanced designs such as X-Wings or TIE Interceptors.

I've made a Recuscant-Class Light Destroyer as well..

Star Wars Light Destroyer.png

The Recuscant-Class Light Destroyer was the Commerce Guild's enforcer before the Clone Wars during which it also became known as the Seperatist Destroyer. About 1200 meters in length the Recuscant class was one of the more powerful separatists warships. Its greatest strengths was its firepower, especially its frontal firepower, and its mobility, being one of the fastest capital ships. Beyond its central heavy turbolaser artillery and four heavy turbolaser batteries it also carried numerous batteries of lighter laser cannons, and room for Droid Fighters. This made it a very dangerous heavy raider and a good fleet fire support. On the other hand, while it did have some forward facing armor, the ship was overall fragile and its flanks had to rely on the lighter lasers. This meant it was at a disadvantage during a broadside engagement and had to rely on escorting frigates during major battles.

@BC1871 What star gate scenario? What is a star gate?

It can be found on the Scenario League Website. There was also a movie from 1994 as well. Long story short, the USAF finds a weird machine in the Egyptian Desert and Kurt Russell and co. deploy to a desert world ruled by weird creatures who dress like Egyptian Gods.

Just stumbled across this old thread in my searches:
https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/ai-and-units.87652/
Scenario didn't get done but @byss put together a nice Trek unit collection from sources like Birth of the Federation (god I loved that game), Armada, other modders units, and of course the tv. There's better newer stuff these days made by others but the quality of these was pretty darn good so figured I'd chuck them in the repository here.

Also noticed Broken Erika's Trek units from long ago in the other units thread. Shame no one used them as they're better than most I've seen!
