WHEN is the next patch coming out ??!

I mean I ve been waiting for ages now, And not being able to play with the americans really makes finding online games a much harder task, then it ALREADY IS (((

SO MY QUESTION IS:


WHEN IS THE NEW PATCH GETTING RELEASED ??

Dromer, we haven't been given a date. All we know is that the bulk of the work is done so it shouldn't be too long. Also, check your PM (private messages).

According to Firaxis this next patch will have nothing new (see news of release of next addon).

However the Europeans will be getting the new portions that we got in the 1.21 patch.

This new patch will contain "fixes" only. Let's hope they are plentiful.

And yes they do read and respond, as Bill Caudill (Firaxis) did to me on Friday with a problem I had.

A few notes...

1) Yes, we Atari folks lurk (and occasionally post) on the forums. It always cracks me up (and saddens me) to read people ranting about how much we supposedly don't care about our products. I was a Civ fan long before I got involved with it on the Atari side!

2) Unfortunately, my reassuring PM to a civ fan just became some sort of "official announcement," which it was never supposed to be. (Which is why I don't usually post more than a few words when I do pop in.) I have no official news to announce about the next PTW patch's availability or timing... I'm only casually mentioning that there will be one, and that we are highly motivated to avoid the lag-across-countries issue.

3) I'm looking forward to revealing more and more about Civ Conquests as we draw nearer and nearer to its release!

Hi Jeff. I'm glad you clarified that. BTW: you probably should have asked Thunderfall to change your user name from Jeff_INFOGRAMES instead of making a new one. This is the kind of instance where he would probably gladly make the change.

For everybody else reading: This is why the folks at Firaxis and Atari never seem to say very much on the forums. They don't want to promise what they can't deliver. And unfortunately, they don't always know what they can deliver until just before it is delivered and in our hot little hands.

Lets see if I have this straight. Someone has convinced Firaxis that completed patches will be withheld from the majority until all minor versions are ready to release.

Is the US a majority user ? there are just as many people in Europe as live in USA , and probably more players in the rest of the world outside of the states than in it ...

Bear in mind that currently only US have 1.21 and no-one else has (although some regions apparently work with the us patch).

I cant believe this europe fix has been so long in coming, and sounds like they've delayed it so that the us version could be patched at sametime as well .

Ya know we get a little info and people blow it out of proportion. The so called "hold up" is for quality assurance issues. The email didn't say which one and it didn't give a release date. Let the folks at Atari do their job and we'll get it as soon as its ready.

We probably are. Plus, do you think Firaxis/Atari, whose "base" is in the U.S., are going to patch up good ol' Europe before the United States? Imagine how much more :rant:ing we'd be seeing on the boards...
