So, potentially, I want to show of my game programming efforts on the interwebs...

CamStudio will give me video, or sound, but not both in the same recording :) I can get around this by recording audio seperately and combining it later, but its annoying. Otherwise I like being able to set the exact screen region and the exact framerate/quality.

I heard about VirtualDub, but it ceases up and makes a garbage file if I try anything bigger than the default 320x240, its laggy since it apparently can't use the OpenGL support on my graphics card, and the sound cuts out after a few seconds :(

I was wondering if anyone would reccomend a similar program that they use?

Thx :salute:

Hey, I just made a suggestion. I didnt suggest how one would acquire it.

Anyways, I think FRAPS can record video of your game, but only of the game.

Looking on SF:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/krut/
I dont know how well it works, but its free and worth a try

Thanks :)

I just downloaded FRAPS and it seems pretty nifty. I basically unzipped it and recorded a movie straight away, and it all worked with sound and everything :goodjob:

The only downside is that it only outputs as .MOV, but I believe YouTube will accept MOV's straight up anyway.

Thanks again :salute:

I think FRAPS can be set to output as AVI or WMV as well.

You may want to have a small video editing util on hand though, FRAPS can make some biiiiiig files (several GB for 15 mins is about normal)

Sorry, mental failure :o By FRAPS I meant KRUT, what you linked to in the previous post. KRUT seems pretty nifty :)
