I don't see Felix or Mushyman's spoilers...

It's because of the way that image server works. He delegates you not to the picture itself, but to the page with a thubnail the first time. Here's the direct link:

Bump. Bump. Bump.

Of course, I wouldn't have had to do this, except that this thread was recently buried by all sorts of other (older) ones.

The mighty Turks decided to expand in another way than India..
Blizzrd you don't need to bump THIS thread because people will find it anyway and it never becomes obsolete.:)

EDIT: Didn't see the new thread, so I think bumping wasn't a bad idea if you want to do it every week:confused:

That's really weird, I had the EXACT same thing happen to my game the other day!

Well I can't post it at the moment, but I have a lovely Arabian enemy with both Christian and Arabian Holy City...

Here's mighty Rome, which conquered Germany, and a bit stronger then usual Ethiopia (they got a Great Mediator Event with the Natives). Also note that Portugal captured Madrid.

Here's some screenshots from my (barely!) failed Spanish UHV. I failed the second one (and the hardest by far, IMO), which was to keep the English, Dutch and French out of the Americas in 1700 AD. There was one English city, Halifax. I was already firmly established in Incan and Aztec territory, so that goal was all but accomplished.

Spoiler :
Central America. Easily had Aztec territory here.

South America. Took the Incan cities largely with my initial group of explorers (the ones that just pop up on their own. The northernmost ones were taken by my Conquistadors fresh off the Aztec conquest. Then they headed down the coast and took 2 French cities, keeping only one.

North America. I settled a few cities, took New Orleans from the French, and you can see the wreckage of several English cities, one by me and one by barbs. However, that sneaky Victoria got Halifax in there when that was the only tile left not covered by my culture, and my weakened Conquistadors couldn't dislodge her cavalry. If I had 10 more turns, I could've done it...

The best way to win the Spanish UHV is to destroy French and English in Europe.

Better yet, vassalize the French (destroy Bordeaux and Marseilles), squat on Amsterdam, and beeline military science for privateers to choke England to death. In my Spanish domination game, England got Astronomy only in 1680.

Fair enough, but I beelined Astronomy to make sure I was the first to get a colony on the New World (first time I tried I failed that). There's no way I could have done this AND successfully attacked the French. Besides, the French weren't the problem. My highly promoted Conquistadors ate Loius' Mustekeers for breakfast. The British with their Redcoats and then early Cavalry were the problem. Perhaps the Military Science/Privateers strategy is the solution to the British problem.

You can produce a settler from a conquered city in New World.

beeline military science for privateers to choke England to death.

Never use them, blatant exploit due to some bug in AI handling of enemy privateers.

I know, isn't it great.

By the way, I didn't save that game there, because I had a good game going, and I was getting impatient with waiting to get ICBMs and blow up the world.

Also, if you use ICBMs in the 15th Century, there's no Global Warming.

Yay for that.

I think I've discovered a new species, or at least a new unit that Rhye may
have not anticipated. I know it's a lion, but what's it doing in the ocean near
Greenland? And why does it seem to be holding an Egyptian flag. Any ideas?
Any thoughts? Any possible names for this unusual creature?

If you open the world builder and click somewhere by accident the Egyptian lion will spawn somewhere. Lately I was playing the Mongols and then I put a lion somewhere (removed the lion when I noticed it) and I contacted Egypt, although they were already collapsed (600 AD). Very annoying.

To answer the question I'd call it a sea lion:p
