And why oh why would you play a camp fest bridge map like Lyon in the first place. :p

Company of Heroes definitely works best a a multiplayer game, the AI simply cannot grasp the tactical intricacies that make the game interesting.

COH was let down badly by the Opposing Fronts expansion though. The Brit faction didn't fit in at all with the flowing / dynamic vCOH design, turned the game from a tactical ballet to sim city & arty spam, such a let down. It's still one of the best RTSs out there, but it was so much better pre-expansion.

hey, I like Lyon. The map can be fun if you dont get bogged down and start fortifying the bridges. They serve as a good fall-back point though.

I love the British faction, of course I would describe my tactics to be rather WW1ish in any RTS :p

Lyon can be alright if played aggressively from the start but it's just so easy to bog down WW1 style that it rarely makes for a decent game. 1v1 on Angoville or Langres is where it's at. :yup:

I prefer 2v2 games so 1v1 maps are kinda useless for me. Its just too easy to focus on one person and get around them. Having two different fronts makes things much more...exciting.

EDIT -- Plus on Lyon, if it bogs down, it is so much more satisfying when you manage to unleash hell on the other guy, plow through, and in an intense final showdown at his base, win the round.

CSS yoga.

Yeah I fought a battle with something like 800? Swadians and myself against 1100 someone else (I forget whom, probably the Rhodoks or Vaegirs). I have a force whose core is made of 60 Swadian Knights, and atm 2 Sword Sisters and 24 Mercenary Cavalry. NOTHING stands in my way! NOTHING! I took Reyvadin and Yalen all by myself xD Plus I had to liberate Dhirim and Praven (TWICE!).

It degenerated into this because the Vaegir noobs ran away & scattered.

1868 VS 894 all total

I didn't bother with fighting a bunch of far superior horse archers... especially without a shield.

Mount and blade is so addictive, but I find myself more than once raped by the incompetence of my allies.

In Warband my allies seem smarter, which is kind of annoying when they sit back and shoot at the enemy while I simply charge. A mass charge of ELITE heavy cavalry smashes any enemy force like a tank. Even spearmen.

I've had some fun impaling enemy horsemen with my lance after I was knocked off my horse. :D

It was tough to get the timing right, but the speed bonus pretty much killed them outright.

Yep, I used to sidestep them and swing my Sword of War at them, ahhh good times during the beta.

Awesome round of mostly Medic in BC2, I wasn't even really trying, just playing it with at 3 am with a buddy. And one shot of a party I hosted at my castle in Warband, almost every other Swadian lord and lady showed up! Including the ever-changing Lady Gaeta (she is often in her undies and bald, or with different hairs).

And one Warband:

Not Pictured: A magnificent feast! And upon further inspection Lady Gaeta did not show up to that feast, although she showed up to my victory feast in Yalen after I captured and received Lordship of the city.

My 160 Teutonic Knights dare to object. :mischief:
Have to post screenie from my game with Europe 1200 mod. So far (1,5 ingame years) I have wiped out:
- Baltic Duchies
- Principality of Halych
- Poland
- Bohemia
half of Denmark.
Playing with no reloads allowed resurrected my love for this game. :D

Also, we left Maniacal/PrinceScamp behind in the finale, but saved the gnome. :yeah:

The rollercoaster is a pain in the rear if you have the gnome :wallbash:.
