The allies had artillery. Those stuka's of yours? Not very effective at taking 150mm shells.

In addition, if I were allies in that game, I'd have rangers tearing your stuka's apart so fast, you wouldnt know what hit you.

Arty forces you to move them or lose them, meanwhile I sneak rangers in around. None of your pioneers have flammen's, so it would be pretty easy to get in, shoot up a couple stuka's, pull back. Rinse repeat.

Well that sounds pretty reasonable! I don't play online because of my issues downloading multi-gigabyte patches right now. That, and I think I would be too scared... I somehow doubt that even the 'Expert' AI comes close to matching the sneakiness and ferocity of a good player. And I really can't handle micro-managing everything, at least not without a pause button.

The AI is hillarious sometimes. These were my AI buddies. I'd have loved to been allies and fired some arty/Calliope on this:

edit: it works NOW, but it didn't when I saw it :p

I can barely handle SP as of right now, just got it a couple hours ago :)

Your men move so fast and you can't zoom out much...

The picture works fine for me. And I hear you about the micromanagement Daftpanzer, thats why I stopped playing RTS games like this, I vastly prefer Stronghold and especially Total War RTS. As for the patches, I got the game free with my graphics card and it had a disc with all the patches on it ^_^

CoH plays so much unlike TW or other 'grand' RTS games. Most games you will have maybe a dozen and a half units. Thats not too much to manage.

Also, remember, when you play online, the other guy (or gal) is a person too. Unless they're really good, they can likely not manage too much at the same time either. Makes it a lot easier to counter their pushes and create your own.

All this is making my mouth water for EU3...

But darn coursework. >.<

In the meantine, I love the rocket mortars in Company of Heroes! Two of them wiped out three allied squads trying to capture the cemetary from me.

@Lucky thats real nice :) I'm a bit confused, are your tarrifs really high, or really low but you still make that much money?

Yeah those thing are pretty sick against the AI, especially when you mix in some off-map rocket support:

lolz.

I'm really loving this game...

Here we stall the allied advance time and time again with eventually eight rocket mortars

Until an enemy armored car and halftrack backstab the entire brigade...

Our allies' offensive petered out without our support, and territory dwindled until we were forced to set up a defense of the HQ!

(Un)fortunately, the AI is very smart and after expending some seventy infantry squads and at least 25 tanks, bulldozed some trees down from behind and led in some crocodile shermans that started attacking the HQ, at which point I realized that RESISTANCE IS FUTILE! :(

Thats exactly why you dont set up a directional defense unless you're on a map where environment allows you to do so (like Lyon)

And like I earlier said, those mortars and stuka's arent well armored. A couple well placed shots up the arse and they go kablooey.

Maximum tariffs but with no taxes. This makes it in Ricky in a way that even though everything is more expensive the lack of taxes means every pop still gains money. It's a utopia!

And why oh why would you play a camp fest bridge map like Lyon in the first place. :p

Company of Heroes definitely works best a a multiplayer game, the AI simply cannot grasp the tactical intricacies that make the game interesting.

COH was let down badly by the Opposing Fronts expansion though. The Brit faction didn't fit in at all with the flowing / dynamic vCOH design, turned the game from a tactical ballet to sim city & arty spam, such a let down. It's still one of the best RTSs out there, but it was so much better pre-expansion.

I must say, Iberia looks nice when it's painted with so much Castilian/Portuguese blood it turns red. :goodjob:

I love how Galicia's just sitting back going all: "...WTH just happened..."

One of my favorite screenshots. This dialog has nothing to do with the tank: I took a phone call while inspecting my garages to make sure none of the cars had vanished. Great timing.

I'm robbing homes, and am dressed appropriately enough for the occasion in my hockey mask. I've parked a shady-looking van outside the home, and about to go in -- but wait, whose patrol route am I blocking? The police. Good thing they don't find a masked man entering a home and leaving it with a television in his hands remarkable in the least.

A trailer park in The Sims 2, not one I would want to drive in.
