GTA: San Andreas. Running from the police. In the background, you can see them
jumping off a bridge in pursuit of me, hitting the ground with a slight bounce. Some of them manage to crawl to their feet and run after me, though.
Happily driving a truck through the San Andreas countryside when I spot a plane rapidly losing altitude. I hit the brakes to prevent being hit by it -- I'm carrying a "fragile load" and lose cash for every bit of damage done to the rig or trailer -- and do so successfully, but then it explodes and I lose the load anyway.
Playing "Vigilante" in San Andreas. The criminals spawned in the hills above me, and when I decided to see if I could overcome the steep incline with my bike, I stalled. Then a police ranch shot over and fell behind me. (I usually wear a hockey mask when engaging in pre-planned criminal behavior.)
The fun sequence of an otherwise unlikable mission -- for me, at least. A prolonged battle inside the mansion follows this descent, and while that's a suitable challenge by itself, the game forces the player to give chase to someone immediately afterwards. If they get away -- which is easy to do -- the mission fails, forcing you to descend and fight through the house again.
