Uhm...

There is a mansion level in Allied Assault... On my college campus in my room, I used to replay this level over and over again. Just clearing out the house as fast as I could, knowing everything by heart. I would do this on lunch time while eating a sandwich, or in the 10 minutes before I had to leave for a class, or while waiting for something to cook on the stove. I must have done it over a hundred times. That was the year I was flabbergasted by Morrowind too... I have fond memories of dark nights with lights turned off gazing at the then-jaw-dropping night sky in the game. It seems I can't get that feeling of immersion anymore. I must have become jaded, and it's too easy with actual income to buy a crapload of games...

I got used to slow-mo jumping through doors in Max Payne, until this. From there on slow-mo jumping through doors more frequently ended up with me dying horribly. Just finished the game, and it is awesome (though sadly the music and voice acting didn't play very much on Windows 7 >.>). I can't believe that the film actually cut out 95% of the action!

Eh? I had no problem with it, I even jumped off the ledge a few more times for the hell of it. Also I quick saved like hell in that game.

The funniest part near the end, as I told Rubrum's girlfriend who was/is apparently using his steam account, is when the final boss goes on about how you can't get to her because her guards will kill you. By that point, I've massacred a couple hundred or so Mafia goons, all the leading members, and a good hundred or so of her private army. She must have been quite delusional to think the few dozen remaining goons would be a threat.

You could pretty much say the same thing of a hundred other games and movies, hehe.

And my gf was on Steam and I was on Steam Offline mode and we were playing some LAN Borderlands.

I am glad I watched it before I played the games.

EDIT:

Couple of funny screens from Max Payne 2 (awesome game which I, sadly, just finished :( ).

Spoiler :

Thankfully my shotgun blast missed the explosives... hilariously one of the enemies who tried to come up behind me blew it up when he came through the door. Didn't end well for him.

I came across one of the "boss"es to find him wearing this... and apparently a large bomb. Which I had to escort. Turned out to be pretty easy to escort at least, he barely took any damage!

YU001FirstPanzer.jpg

Having survived "Snipertown", I've stolen a King Tiger tank and am taking it through the countryside to prevent the German army from blowing up a bridge crucial to the Allied advance. This is my first time blowing up a tank with another tank.

YU002Ambush.jpg

An intended three-way ambush. I destroyed the tank ahead of time, but the tower successfully drew my attention away from the artillery straight ahead. I didn't notice it until it had already gotten two too many direct hits on my tank.

YU004SnipeSnipe.jpg

I've reached the bridge, but the Germans have wired it with explosives. Only my sniper rifle is preventing them from activating the gear.

YU005AirStrike.jpg

Then followed a hectic sequence. While spotting for P-40s (using my binoculars to isolate tanks, then left-clicking on them to call in an air strike), I also had to watch my back. German troops keep coming up behind me. Neither the tank nor myself were in good condition at the end of the assault, but we kept the bridge intact long enough for the Allied army to secure the area.
