Not Warcraft, and the UI, while complex, is necessary.

My issue with the UI isn't so much the amount of information, but that it's cluttered up with random graphics. Claws holding things, cogs, a stone wall, etc. All of that could be gotten rid of, which would streamline it greatly.

It may be necessary for it to be complex, but that UI is still pretty bad. Its extremely overwhelming, presents too much info at once, has too many unique images and shapes. If a random person has trouble figuring out just what the heck your UI does, even after looking at it for a while (like I did), its not designed very well.

Call of Pripyat

Slight spoilers inside but nothing that will ruin the game.

Well I at least I can't complain about the cold.

These Mercs thought I was still upstairs, where 4 of their friends ambushed me (only to be mown down by my Eliminator automatic-assault-shotgun). Needless to say 3 bullets later I was looting their corpses.

My team ready to blast our way into Pripyat. Sadly Strider (guy on left) was killed by snorks and I quicksaved over my quicksave. DAMNIT!

Empire Total War

I bought the DLC since it was 10% off and with warpath it was FINALLY worth the price as a small expansion, and I had bought the game at half-price for this reason.

And for whatever reason the HMS Victory decided to sink for absolutely no reason (it had less (none I saw) holes along the waterline than a few other ships still sailing along!).

Yeah I couldn't install it on Windows 7 either :/

Although the disc I picked up for $1.99 from a local thrift store is copyrighted 1994. No scratches though!

EDIT: But it works on XP! WOOO!

Click and hold that electricity bolt icon until a little sub-menu pops up.

I've gone back to being a sniper.

The claws/cogs don't show by default, I choose to have them on my screen.

The stone wall is so people with larger resolutions don't have any advantage over people who lack widescreen, I assume.

It's much easier to figure out what's happening in game.

What in particular was difficult to figure out from looking?

Everything. The more I stare at it the less confusing it becomes, but even then, it's a lot of brightly coloured icons on a colourful background. There are few if any labels, numbers are presented without much indication what they're of.

Your opinion on this is also biased as you have been using the UI for a while and are thus informed of how it functions. Similarly, I can train pretty much anyone to use any UI, after enough time it will be extremely usable for them. This doesn't make it a good UI.

This is a discussion for Computer Talk, not a screenshots thread.

Nice city CivG. :goodjob:

Some atmospheric STALKER shots that I took, using the Atmosfear mod which changes the weather effects -

Rainbow - I'm not sure whether this is Atmosfear or a default game occurance, but nice to see anyway
