scrolling out causes the display to freakily interlace:

oh, here are the steps needed to reproduce this bug:

start civ 4.
load up or start a new game.
scroll out to almost maximum distance.

this occurs about 3/4 of the time i start
my game. at first i thought it was an
'alt-tab' issue, but, it seems to happen
at random at startup whether i alt-tab
or not.

i would feel much more comfortable if someone else was having similar issues!
i can't be the only one, right?

I've had a similar problem with all in-game text, but not the actual map.

Not scrolling at all until the game is fully loaded seems to take care of this.

I just started getting this problem. Not when I zoom out though, it just seems to happen at random times, random turns, etc. It will eventually crash my computer. I have a Radeon 9800 PRO.

hmmm... i am about to load it up now, i will try your 'no scrolling' method.

also, i am glad to hear this is not a totally isolated bug. means eventually,
they willg et around to fixing it!

If you have anti-aliasing on, try disabling that, it seemed to work for me for the time I tried it.

well, i will try that anti-aliasing also then.
i have tried waiting for all the graphics to load, and this does
not always work.
