Searching Civ Fanatics Forums

(I thought the "Creation & Customization" forum was the best place to post this thread since it is directly related to this subject.)

Why is the search function deactivated for these forums? It is frustrating to sift through dozens of forums in a vain search for relevant information. It also seems to annoy some users when I ask about subjects that have been discussed in the past. In fact, I'm not even sure that I've asked about this exact same subject before.

In any case, these forums are my favorite resource for civ3 mod questions.

I assume when the server is likely being overloaded, the search function is disabled. Yes, it is frustrating.

Ask some of the old timers here. They usually know where stuff is.

With the large influx of new users registering with the advent of Conquests, the server load was becoming an issue. If all of these new posters also started *searching* for answers, you would spend more time looking at a "Server Busy" message than you would reading the forums! So Thunderfall turned off the Search function. When the load stabilizes, I am sure he will turn it back on again.

Oh, and re: "I thought the "Creation & Customization" forum was the best place to post this thread": Close, but no cigar. The correct place to ask about Site Functions is in Site Feedback. --> Moving thread there now.... Moved.

Well, I've been reading these forums for years, and I just haven't regestered for a while. The search was great... It's too bad. I've had to ask for links to may own threads (I don't subscribe to any, because the ones I care about change (i.e. one day it's this one, the next it's another one). Maybe you should be able to search once you have like 200 posts.

I think TF should turn the search on from 22:30CST to 07:00CST. That way I can at least search when I'm at work.

I've already got a plan if I jinxed the search. .. stay tuned!
