Second revolution in Egypt?

This is just yet another classic revolution where things don't turn out the way the people thought they would. Too bad. How many revolutions have there been that weren't failures?

Yeah. Besides, whoever runs the Egyptian government is really ******** if US military aid is what keeps them from getting hostile towards Israel.

It is not what keeps them from going to war, feeling secure is and thus safe is what keeps them from going to war and that is aided in part by the Egyptians feeling they have equipment that puts them in a position to hold their own against Israel.

If the price of another war across the Sinai is a couple billion and some hand me downs (to both sides) then we have saved more Egyptian lives than these protestors have.

Which is irrelevant, as the means the Egyptian military are using to control the protests have absolutely nothing to do with the US. Again, who here thinks rifle butts and batons and rubber bullets would be wanting from their arsenal if only for the US?

I said it during the previous round of protests: when the optimism meets reality, the Islamists will hijack the revolution.

So far it looks like I was right. It's funny how people told me "no, the military won't allow that". Well, maybe the military will be swept away. When it loses public support, it will be easier for the Islamists to take control of it, purge it of the (corrupt) secularists, and shape it as they choose.
